  1. A trailer brake controller is definitely on my list of things to add to my truck too. With the 4.0 and 4.10s, its got plenty of pulling power, but not as much stopping power as I would like.
  2. He also fixed the frame rust and added a new rear crossmember because the stock one was all messed up because it had some terrible "custom" bumper brackets on it. The rear spring hanger mounts are for a 1990s Ford Ranger, IIRC. The stock spring hangar has the shackle pointed upwards and is cup shaped, so it traps dirt and moisture, leading to rust. These should fix that issue, and it allowed him to lift the rear up a little more. New crossmember. The pieces of tubing that go crossmember to crossmember and are parallel to the frame rails are to support the K5 Blazer tank.
  3. Well, he found a decent deal on a mid 80s Ford stepside bed that is from down south that he decided to try to put on his truck. It probably wasn't the route I would've went on it, but it should look good once he puts his Jeep fender flares on it. He has to do some trimming to get it to sit right. Some CAD (cardboard aided design) to see what it will look like with the Jeep widetrack flares on it.
  4. That would be really cool! Hotwheels is making an XJ right now, maybe a Comanche is in their future. We can hope at least.
  5. Matchbox Eagles! This is a car that they made for the 70th anniversary this year. One is going to stay in the package for sure, one is going to get opened and painted to match my car, and I'm unsure what the plan with the third one is.
  6. Yes, according to the FB post, preorders get 20% off. I posted what will end up being the real prices later.
  7. I saw that after posting it
  8. I know nothing about this, I just saw it on FB. Looks like tinted ones will be $320 and non tinted will be $300. Not too bad, IMO. https://www.oraclelights.com/products/groupbuy-oracle-lighting-jeep-comanche-mj-led-tail-lights?fbclid=IwAR1SGJiryZL0zuuk5lTFkcVdDkg7gQj9pLGds8UFsLVdg86NxnHGOdF5_Ck

Good looking truck. What are the plans with it? It may also be time to update that sig...
  10. Similar to scguy's comment, 21 slot grilles and Wagoneer header panels are worth pulling. Probably any chrome front end pieces too. As are XJ Wagoneer taillights.
  11. There is also this thread going, but its more upgrades rather than parts to grab, but still helpful.
  12. Front skid plate too, I didn’t see that on the list. I might’ve missed it too. Factory 2.5 AC stuff is rare. The bellhousing off of a 2.5 Dakota can mate an AX-15 to a 4 cylinder.
  13. Soapy water is your friend. Use lots of it that way you can manipulate the graphics some.
  14. @Pete M I think has has baby powder technique. Basically sorrels out a thin layer on the floor near where you think it’s leaking and follow the trail.

    Quicky

You can. I’d run it on an 8” wide wheel, but a 10” would be fine.
  16. If the 2.5 doesn't have enough power for you, neither will the 4.0, IMHO
  17. @SoCalJeepComanche I think has 5 on 5 on his truck.
  18. That is @ComancheKid45's truck.
  19. Yes, it was the Kammback. Probably 2nd lowest production Eagle. Second to the Eagle Sundancer convertible.

There is already so much knowledge and useful information on it, and everybody is so helpful and willing to give advice. I have no doubts that I will keep returning to this forum to ask for more help, document my experiences, and do what I can to help other people who are in the same position I once was and currently am in. What can I say, I really like to see other young guys buildings building these trucks. Congrats @Warren99. It's a good looking truck!
  21. It's rare enough that if you want to build one, you should find a different truck.
  22. My Eagle before I rescued it: My brother’s truck before he rescued it: An SX4 in the same JY my brother’s truck came from:
  23. Yessir, I do. Turns about 2700 at 75 and 3000 at 85. I ran it across the state at 75 and got 20mpg. Don’t worry about the RPMs. It’ll be happy.
  24. Good looking duo!
