  1. I have bought 2 aluminum radiators from rockauto.com and they were absolute peices of junk. Neither one lasted a week. Bought one from Napa. Considerably more pricy....but damn it works so good! It is a plastic one. The ones that are junk are all aluminum. I believe they removed them. I don't see them on there anymore. However a open system is better. I have the links in my signature. Just need a radiator. Aluminum Cherokee tank from macs radiator shop and a universal plastic overflow.
  2. Lol I have to say there was one morning I did go out to work. I took the MJ and it rained all night. So about 5AM I was out and ready to go. Started the truck and let it warm up then started to ease off. But when I started to ease off I noticed I wasn't moving. At all. Put my foot down a bit and I still wasn't moving but heard my tire screech for a moment. Put it in park and got out to look. My jeep got stuck in the driveway with one of its rear tires stuck between two slick wet rocks. They were like embedded in the ground but were smooth. So it was quite funny I got it stuck in my own driveway. I did also look it has summer vintage tires. So that's why it hates anything that isn't a dry road. Love my little 2wd though
  3. Asheboro North Carolina. Terrible dealership. The main tech didn't even know a Renix engine. Believe me. The only thing I get from them is genuine oil filters. When they did to that track bar it was only because one guy had a '99 XJ and knew how to do that. But other than that I think all they know how to do is do tires, oil change and diddle around with electronic devices to diagnose and fix all this new crap
  4. I know my jeep was bought by my great grandfather for his wife. She was a small lady. She was able 5'1-5'2. So the Comanche was perfect for her. It was a grocery getter and church goer. So the 2wd was perfect. That that given time they had a old 70's GMC Jimmy that if they had to go somewhere in bad weather they took that. And then time went on, they aged and couldn't drive. So the truck sat. Then I bought it. Thats why the paint is so rough. Sat in the sun for so long. But yeah I think the 2wd was perhaps for....town running? And 4×4's were geared more towards farm work/hauling truck? I really don't know that's just a random guess that makes sense to me. I know the one time I did drive it in the snow I almost ran it into the ditch by accident. So yeah. No more snow driving for it
  5. Well as a collective Comanches are very rare. More likely to see a Lamborghini or Ferrari nowadays statically speaking according to Google. If I had to say I would say 2WD's edge it out simply because everyone wanted the 4×4 option. And most 2WD's have been converted as well. So while there is no specific number I have seen way more 4×4's around/for sale. I know every person that has questioned me about my jeep says "man I bet this little thing goes good in the snow!" Then I reply my FWD monte does better than the truck and that it's a 2WD. They flatout do not believe me until they look under the vehicle and see no 4×4 parts under it. They swear up and down all jeeps are 4x4/4WD. Not this one lol
  6. I definitely wouldn't go to a jeep dealership. The people at my local dodge/jeep/ram dealership refuse to work on my truck because it's a 88 and thr computer doesn't go that far. They begrudgingly put on a trackbar a little while back. But what made me pull away from them was when I saw them pull my jeep in the shop and they whipped it in tires screeching and almost kicked the back end out and hit a car lift. After that I told them bring my truck out I don't want my oil change I'm never doing business again. My truck is 35 years old and is now a peice of automotive history. It's not a beater toy!
  7. For sure. The fuel doors are absolutely awful. The people at the gas station didn't know what in the world was going on with me. Flailing my arms and swatting myself. Like I mentioned earlier one fellow came over with a newspaper and helped me. But yeah. They got me good that one time. I now carry a can of WD-40 because of it. I wonder if coating the inside of the fuel door with wasp killer or bug killer it would kill them if they made a nest in there again. Because man I tell you what. People thought I was out there acting a fool when I was in serious pain!
  8. I've never had issues with bees. I did twice get the fire stung out of me from a small hornets nest that was right up at the top corner of the fuel door. So as soon as I opened it it crushed the nest and they didn't stop stinging me till someone came over with a newspaper and swatted them off. The second time it happened a few months later. I to get gas opened the door and the nest was above my fuel cap. I went in the store and bought a can of WD-40 and hosed that nest down real good. 2 or 3 got out and stung me. Maybe you could coat the inside of the gas door with some chemical wasps/hornets hate?
  9. $550 for these wheels and tires? Are these specific ones like....limited edition or something? I on Google and saw a set of turbines for like $300 completely clean and shined like new. These are totally not even worth it. I'd be hesitant to give him $100. I saw on Facebook market place not to long ago a set of steelie wheels like that's on my truck that had big fat knobby tires and he was asking $750. And he said they were estimated to be used about 1500 miles. I'd either let the dude just sit on the wheels or offer him anything under $100. That's just crazy seeing the condition.
  10. Well guys I have gotten the truck. It is magnificent. Truly satisfied. Higley recommend this guy. I'll definitely be taking this to car shows with me
  11. Yeah I'm only 22 and my jeep is 35 years old. So I was speechless when approached about it. Still makes me scratch my head from time to time thinking on it. That thing was rolling off the assembly line way before my time. I just happened to like the truck since I was kid and bought it. I still guess to this day that guy thought because of the name I didn't care about them? I really don't know. I feel people artificially manufacture issues about something that really doesn't concern them. Who knows!
  12. Or you can go thr route of my open cooling system. Bit more expensive...but can can still run the same radiator type. All the stuff I have is in my signature minus the radiator from napa
  13. Pablitocustom on Instagram. It seems tons of XJ owners have went to him. A few even me went to him with MJ's.
  14. Oh guys I cannot wait. I've been informed it's being shipped to me. This will definitely be tagging along with me when I go to car shows
  15. I've seen some guys do the new gladiator tail lights which...look different. How in the world would one do that? Splice the connecting wires and cut into the rear fender light housing a bit to fit them?
