clean looking 86 in ohio
eaglescout526 replied to Pete M's topic in Craigslist/Marketplace/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
5cly! Lol. 2.8L must be on its way out. -
Looking at the catalog, there are three different numbers. One for the four cyl, one for the BA and the other for the 15. I wish I knew what made them so different but it could be the angles in the lever. I might check AMC salvage but it seems like manual trans stuff is very popular.
-
Possible route I could take. Thanks for that.
-
I am looking for the shift level for a manual trans. Doesn’t matter which transmission as they are all the same. The threads on Chunk for the shift knob are snapped clean off.
-
I’ve always loved the look of the chief.
-
Ive always liked those as I saw those a lot on XJs and YJs growing up, so naturally I thought every Jeep had those. But there’s something about them on an XJW that doesn’t belong.

Sending unit identification

This might actually help. I will post the pics of the three I have. But they look pretty similar to me. Maybe I should rotate them the other way? -
Alright guys, Aside from what the wiring harness tag would say, does anyone have any idea how to identify which tank the sending units go to? The catalog shows me that 18 gallon and 23.5 gallon sending units are the same but 16 gallon is different. Are there any physical characteristics about them that sets them apart?

Yup, my BSA license plate. Supposedly a limited number was made back in 2010? I am not sure about its validity but it seems to be true as I probably have only seen maybe 10 since 2010.

No no turbine for that beauty. But those 84-86 wagoneer 5 slots that are 15x6. I think coheed has a couple sets.
-
18mm for the bell house 16 or 17 for the trans to cross member mount 15mm for the cross member to frame.
-
Easy. 18mm bolts all around for the bellhouse to engine.

Lol can’t say I have ever heard that song. But then again, country music is the bane of my existence.

It looks decently loaded.

Want a different post for that one or you want the build sheet for that one here as well? I probably won’t get to it until this afternoon due to work blocking CC.
-
Lol, I had gotten gas after work. Always a thrill when driving with the light on.

Driving to work Saturday morn, Had to get an updated shot of the cluster. Now I am just waiting on some hardware for the longer running boards and currently running the brackets through electrolysis.

Mothers will never be convinced. End of line. That being said, as long as youre happy with what you bought then you have your mothers support.

Chunk, A 1984 XJ
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Oh I know and I’m not expecting anything out the axle like it’s a 44 or a 20. The catalog shows two different styles and on reading up on the 35, it evolved from an AMC15 that was used in the early days of AMC until AMC sold their axle tooling to Dana in 85. So it could’ve been made in house, or it could’ve been made as a husk by Dana and then AMC finished it. Who absolutely knows like you said. Catalog literally says AMC or Dana Model 35, I could speculate that both made axles to keep up with the demand of the 35 as that was the only axle under the XJ until 87.
