So I am collecting parts again.....
eaglescout526 replied to watchamakalit's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For the AC lines you could always go to Napa or oreilly and have them send out your line to be made new. -
Its like when I started with 86 with the VIN hunt. It seems VINs were made completely out of order. I need to get back into that if it didnt take alot of Dr. Pepper to do lol.

Anything Renix is worth grabbing.

Yeah, hes got an 04 TJ now that hes enjoying. Me, Coastchief and SoCalmanche give him a hard time for selling it. But to be fair, this poor MJ while brilliantly thrown together and running and driving suffered from poor planning from the PO in terms of electrical and the swap on the interior side. But the electrical to get the engine and lights working was pretty clean and done.

Let's talk water pumps
eaglescout526 replied to tugboat95's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
68382488AA is the latest number. Used from 1987-01. If ordered through me it would only be a $60 pump. -

I think he’s correct in terms of the OEM water pump still available and the original one supersedes I think well into 2001 XJs. -
Switchers are generally small engines that will move loads or cars from one line to another so that way they don’t have to waste the time and energy to put a big engine on a turntable to have it shunt cars around. Makes sense they use cabooses there.

Lol they all can afford that cool factor but it’s probably nostalgia as well and most are getting trashed and graffitied just sitting in a yard or abandoned.

87-90 2.5L vac line pics
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No problem. What makes that diagram stand out for me is the throttle body has four hoses as does the charcoal canister. 87-90 is two at the TB and three at the canister. -
87-90 2.5L vac line pics
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks Ohm! Believe it or not that’s the 86 set up but I mean like actual pics in the engine bay at the bonnet on the intake. When I got my MJ there wasn’t any hoses plugged into the bonnet and so I had to guess where they went with the firewall diagram, but it doesn’t show the position of the two hoses on the bonnet. -
Does any of my 2.5L brothers have a good unmolested 2.5L vacuum line set up? I’m curious as I have two lines that go to the bonnet and I want to make sure I have the right ones in the right spot.

Oh no it’s not NOS by any means lol but I just have another tailgate. Now that one from the pic is not NOS as most metal parts come from the factory in that powder coated black like why you and Pete have. That tailgate has been painted. Buttt. Who’s to say that it was ordered by a body shop, painted, customer canceled or never picked it up and it sat at the body shop for god who knows how long.

I mean if you knew your way around the Renix harness and could add the fuse contact into the box that would trigger the low water fluid light, you could do the later style bottle swap.
-
I feel an engine bay detail coming on on the weekend.

I would just like to point out that the D44 without lockers was offered with 3.07, 3.55 and 4.09. With lockers only the first two could be had.

I remember having to resolve an issue like this with an old copy of Battlefront II. The game wouldn’t run due to some issue with the audio device and I had to select something to enable the device in order for the game to recognize it and run. Windows 10 is no XP or 7 and I’ll give you that for a fact. Perhaps a quick Bing search could yield something.

just learned that a minivan has a drop rear axle!
eaglescout526 replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
While that is true, they could still be useful for making a full size trailer or replacing an axle. -

The Promasters have a rear solid axle. But man isnt that a weird thing to see.
