  1. What I might be able to find will be as early as 84 unfortunately. It still might list all transmissions possible.
  2. Ok that could be the problem why the calipers aren’t lining up correctly. Kinda the reason why the 84-89 knuckles are sought after because they can hold better calipers.
  3. What year is the D30? That nut in the center is more like a cover for the actual nut that holds the hub on while acting like a castle nut. Its weird.
  4. I used a broken leaf spring and a jack and jammed the leaf in a spot where it wouldn’t come loose but would help angle the axle back towards the cab with the jack. That’s usually how I get my control arms to go back and line up correctly. The passenger side is trickier to do that too.
  5. I second the snatching of fuses especially if you find an old XJ that hasn’t had to change fuses in years as you can find some with original fuses.
  6. Well you also don’t have power steering. 87 for the 2.5L is a weird year for it much like the 87 is for the 4.0. But the harness came ready to add other things from the factory like PS and AC.
  7. Judging by the look of it tells me it would be the AC compressor connector.
  8. Yeah the 4.0 and 2.5L have different trans and the 15 doesn’t line up to the 5’s bell house unless you had the Dakota house. But you can swap the entire drive train over to the 2.5L vehicle from the doner.

Lol that’s absolutely fair. I’d sure as hell run out of a house if I heard that.
  10. If you can’t find a Dakota bell house then just drop in an AX5 and be done with the swap. Simple as that actually.

If it’s home defense, nothing says “get out of my house” like an M1897 with its famous 1’ bayonet.

Get an extremely base model so you can deck it out how you want. Like a base MJ just absolutely nothing but the basic barrel, receiver, mag, and stock.
  13. Wow. That’s a neat find!
  14. Welcome. That book is a great trove for us guys with the TBI.
  15. That is indeed the same exact book. The 87-90 YJ uses the same Renix TBI set up for the 2.5L. As far as the stepper motor, it could either be jammed inside or it could be not receiving power.
  16. There’s several TBI books on eBay, one day I would like to make a PDF of my manuals so we all can have access to them.
  17. Yeah I’m slacking today I know. Shame on me. I’ll kick on my computer tonight before bed and drop some VIN sheets.
  18. 5cly! Lol. 2.8L must be on its way out.
  19. Looking at the catalog, there are three different numbers. One for the four cyl, one for the BA and the other for the 15. I wish I knew what made them so different but it could be the angles in the lever. I might check AMC salvage but it seems like manual trans stuff is very popular.
  20. Possible route I could take. Thanks for that.
  21. I am looking for the shift level for a manual trans. Doesn’t matter which transmission as they are all the same. The threads on Chunk for the shift knob are snapped clean off.
  22. I’ve always loved the look of the chief.
  23. Ive always liked those as I saw those a lot on XJs and YJs growing up, so naturally I thought every Jeep had those. But there’s something about them on an XJW that doesn’t belong.
  24. Sounds good! Appreciate the info Wahoo!
