  1. Willy, You always share some of the coolest pics in addition to all the upgrades on the mj. Thanks! Buck.
  2. Welcome back and glad it got back in your hands. Buck.
  3. I would be a little worried buying this truck at any price, the 5th pic shows it being loaded onto a tow truck! Buck
  4. Welcome and great find. The people on this forum are amazing so you have a great resource for knowledge. Good luck and keep us posted! Buck.
  5. Hope all gets better. Buck.
  6. If the tailgate were the only rust area I would have thought it was used as a pool maintenance vehicle, but since it is in many places, definitely not a Florida truck. Glad you just need the bed. Good find, I would offer to help but just a little too far, sorry. Good luck! Buck.
  7. I wonder what the turning radius is on pavement, 2 miles?
  8. That looks awesome! Great work. Buck
  9. There is more info on tech about this but I regret not having them put the rubber gasket instead of the original metal trim when my truck was repainted 5 years ago. At some point the xj's were fitted with the rubber gasket. Good luck! Buck.
  10. I don't think I would ever get custom wheels for my mj but what you did with those moabs makes me want to pick some up and costomize to my liking (really just steal your design!), great look and a hell of a lot cheaper than brand new wheels. Also I like the look of the flat black truck with gloss black accents, that is really cool, and like you said, easy to touch up. Great ideas all around, as always. Buck.
  11. Wow, that is impressive. Didn't serve, thanks to all who did and still serve. I definitely would feel better on the ground knowing those help keep me protected. Buck.
  12. Dave, awesome build. From my standpoint that was worth the wait. Get some rest and look forward to your updates. Buck.
  13. Congrats on mjotm! Well deserved, very impressive build.
  14. I found some upholstery so I can get my drivers side bucket done. The seat cover and the seat itself on the passenger side are in great shape so I didn't want to pay to have both seats done. I found the webbed material at a place in Detroit, said it might be the last 2 yards of material in existence so I scooped it up. I only have to replace the webbed area, I found an upholsterer I am comfortable with and will try to get this done in the next month. This is a pic of the passenger side of course. Yes, it has been lonely most of the time driving the mj!
  15. Glad your father is recovering, hope he makes a full recovery! Buck
  16. I will try to not make this too long. I now have insurance for my mj through Progressive because they have insured it for value. It started by me trying Hagerty, I had tried them a few years ago but they have just recently started insuring 89 and older vehicles. I went through all the on line questions, and looked like they were going to give me a great rate. Turns out the vehicle has to be parked in an enclosed garage, something they could have posted during the on line inquisition! I had insured it with State Farm since I bought it new and in the last 5 years I had been very worried about it getting wrecked and them saying "You have a 25 year old truck, it is totaled". When I told State Farm that I was looking into changing they jumped right in and said they will write a policy for value but it needs to get appraised. So I was thinking the appraiser might laugh at me wanting to get my mj appraised since he was a car collector, but he was very nice and understanding. He said he was sorry that because of not having enough research available he could only appraise it for 7500, I was pleasantly surprised, smiled and said I will take that. Well State Farm came back and said their collector car policies only cover to and from parades and car shows, something they could have told me before I spent the money on the appraisal! I do not consider my mj a show car and have not ever had it in a show or parade, but I wanted peace of mind if it ever gets wrecked. Also, Progressive does not require it to be garaged and they do not have mileage limitations as some policies do. Hope this is at least food for thought for some and helpful to others. Buck P.S. The appraiser knew I wasn't interested in selling but told me to contact him if I ever do want to sell, great compliment.
  17. Would be cool to see the formula car on a trailer being pulled by the toy. Buck.
  18. Sorry, haven't woken up yet, mostly in the title, keep us posted and put some pics up as soon as you can. Buck.
  19. Welcome to the madness and good luck with your build. Specs? Buck.
  20. Oh the things you could do with that pic and photoshop! Did you trust the forklift and operator enough to be in it during that photo shoot? Buck.
  21. Check the build date and google the date and see if it landed on a Friday. Sorry, couldn't resist. Buck.
  22. Rob, awesome work! That is a nice update and well worth the wait. If you ever get into a lull again and need to work on a truck to get going, please give me a call, you can work on my mj anytime. Buck.
