This list is awesome Minuit, thanks for taking the time to organize all this! Buck -
Congrats! I agree, I think you got a very nice mj for the money in good condition. Please start a build thread since the link to the cl add will probably be gone soon and everyone needs to see this mj. Glad you found it. Buck.

Codename Bumblebee: Now With Oil Pressure!
buxmj replied to Minuit's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I can speak for myself and say I have done something similar. Years ago I got out of my car in a hurry and left it in neutral, a neighbor knocked on the door to tell me my car had gone down the street and luckily didn't hit anything but another neighbor's chain link fence. That was a long time ago and I almost always still have a wheel chock on the mj. Glad your mj bumper took the brunt of the impact. Buck.- 60 replies

Congrats on mjotm. I really like the Dakota bumper, I will add that to my list of things to look for when I go to a pic-n-pull. Buck.

Hey Minuit, I have checked the fuse box and I don't see any obvious damage but I need to look much closer to see if there is corrosion anywhere. Buck.

I don't post very often but always enjoy keeping up on everyone else's threads. It is overdue for my yearly post. When I had the driver's seat out I decided to pull up the carpet and see if I had any surprises and yes I had some rust, mostly surface rust but some had gone through. It is interesting because it was caused by having a very bad clutch master cylinder leak years ago, the through rust was not on the flat, lower part but at the curve, almost under the pedals. After sanding and priming the good floor, I formed a piece of medium gauge steel and riveted it down while also using sealer and then plenty of bedliner inside and out. If it ever gets another paint job I will pull both seats and have the whole floor done right. I was going to put new speakers in the b pillars but realized I just needed to rebuild the 4.5" speakers of the Pioneer boxes I bought many years ago. I bought a foam repair kit off ebay for $25, took the boxes apart and repaired the 4.5's, the speakers sound good as new. I have new door speakers but waiting til I get a new stereo before I hook it all up. Since my mj has earned its retirement several years ago, I keep it under cover most of the time. It actually stays cleaner that it did when it was in the garage. And even though the paint job was done almost 7 years ago, it still looks great. Last weekend I changed out the starter, for once, no foul language was used! I don't think a pic is needed here, just glad to post when something goes smoother than I was anticipating. No bloody knuckles either, for me, that is amazing.

Welcome to the madness! Lots of knowledgeable people on this site who are willing to help without an attitude. Since you had an mj for nearly 400k I think you probably know a lot about you just did to your free weekends! Buck.

Codename Bumblebee: Now With Oil Pressure!
buxmj replied to Minuit's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
As always Minuit like your work and attention to detail. Ironically mine is an April '89 build date. I bought a timpani (kettle drum) from ebay which had the same melted paint technique, my then 5 year old daughter could have done a better job with a rattle can. Glad it is in your hands and can't imagine what shape it was in before relyt120 got ahold of it. Buck.- 60 replies

Newbie build - 91 Eliminator
buxmj replied to acerocknroll's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I have those buckets in my '89 with the exact upholstery. The place where it is torn can not be repaired, you need to reupholster it. I did find that material and only had to do that part of the drivers side, unfortunately the supplier that I bought the material from said that what I bought was the last of it in existence, just in case the guy tells you it will be easy to find the material. Tell him you will have to reupholster both seats because that material is out of production, see how far he comes down. Buck. -

I agree Minuit, I always appreciate the compliments but realize that most offers to buy would be insulting. Buck. -

I see it in the background Brett, looking forward to seeing some progress but I totally understand you wanting to take your time and have it exactly as you want it. Buck.

That sucks they had it listed to fit a comanche, glad you only paid $50 for it. I bet it was on an S10 or Toyota. You should be able to get your money back when selling it! Buck.
