Finally got around to posting some more stuff. So far, the tranny is running great. I still have out the new 4wd linkage on and i still need to connect my 2 piece axle. Because school started I haven't been working so my income base come to a stop. Because I'm out of $$$ I've been working on my parts cherokee and 8.8. I pulled both axles and brake booster out of the cherokee and then had it picked up for free. I welded the axle tubes to the housing on the 8.8. I preheated the housing to 400 and spot welded it so hopefully it'll hold up. I also got a DIY diff cover for the 8.8 and I love how it looks and turned out. The paint I'm using on the axles is rustoleom hammered black. My next project is to finally get the 8.8 in, the new lift, and this dana 30 that needs some work. I'm going to paint it tonight and then take it to get re geared soon. It need some new brakes so ill probably just by factory ones from napa. I end up having to use 2 winches and an engine lit to get it over this 2 inch curb and into my "work zone". At one point the axle was underneath the rear doors. It has 3.07s. I just went to Napa and a stock brake lot with everything is only 170$. And some of the ends of it look horrible. But I might re use them

So I don't know what to call this but I pulled a hp30 out of this cherokee I have and this thing is nasty. I'm going to need all new brakes including everything, tie rod, tie rod ends and just about everything else. I haven't pull diff cover yet but I have to get it re geared to 4.10a anyway. I'm not wanting to build this thing with chromoly a or lockers yet becuase I don't have the money and I need to swap this in soon to get my 4wd back. I'm just wondering what people recommend for brake kits and tie rod end s and all that stuff. I'm really not sure what to buy. I've never even touched brakes before. Thanks Edit: Should I go to Napa and get parts? Or do some after market upgrades? My brakes are terrible. I have a brake booster but just need to install it

I have 31s now but come next summer I'll try out 35s. Hopefully 4.10s are enough to handle 35s if not I'll get 33s

I was doing homework and then saw this and man i love it. I'm a big John deere guy so i love the paint. I really wanting to build a roll bar like that in the bed, but i have a HP30 that I'm trying to find the money to get re geared. I so wish i could get paid for going to high school.

I got a Chrysler 8.25 for sale out of a 2dr cherokee

Get an aluminum coolant reservoir. I had overheating issues and then got a Mac radiator diamond aluminum tank and it fixed all my problem. I even had a brand new radiator and it still over heated due to the crappy plastic reservoirs.

IIRC 3.73 & Above is the carrier you need. 3.55 & below is the wrong carrier Cage is coming along nicely, Got 90% of the front cut out & tack welded together. Tomorrow we should finish the whole front cage, Probably take it off & completely weld it too. Other then that is it a direct swap over? Also, because I no longer need the vaccum because of my ax15 t case, can I just take it all out?

Make sure those doules that hold on the dust cover are in the motor not the Tranny. For some reason when I was doing my swap it wouldn't go all the way in unless the doules were in the motor holes

So for about 3 months now Ive had a ford 8.8 ready to swap in including a new 5.5 inch lift. :doh:I have everything to do the lift and swap and i know how to do it, but i haven't yet because its different gearing then my dana 30 upfront right now and i need a drivable car and 4wd here in the upcoming colder months. But now that i have this 1995 4wd cherokee with a non CAD dana 30, I'm going to pull it out and have it re geared and put that in my comanche. I'm not going to build it up yet because i don't have the money because i started school and can't work as much, but i just want to replace what i should and get the parts to re-gear it. I'm just wondering what i need to buy for a re gearing? thanks. Id like to get the parts so that i can do this ford 8.8 swap, new 5.5 alexia lift and then this dana 30 all in one weekend. BTW I'm not doing it myself, but i just want to have all the parts ready to bring to the shop. also, the shop in town here is cool with bringing in your own parts. . :MJ 1: . (me after swap)

I might have to copy the bed roll cage idea. I want a roof rack but would love to have some protection.

I'm excited to see this. I've been wanting to do one myself. I just got a tube bender but just have never seen an MJ with one I just looked up mj with exo cage and there's some really good looking ones

The speedo is a direct swap. Just make sure it's seated all the way or it won't work. I just learned this today from first hand experience. Lol

Ya I have heard that too but a mechanic friend told me to just get a bushing made and it was only 30 bucks and took 30 mins and I didn't know about the CJ thing until recently

Get a pilot bushing made that's the same size OD as the renix pilot sleeve and a ID of the shaft size. That's what I had to do and didn't know about it until I was in the middle of the swap. I got mine made out of brass

I put a 95 ax15 and got a bushing machined
