2. I don't know a whole lot but if you have a long bed you don't need an sye unless you got like 10 inches of lift
3. What's the advantage to a non CAD?
4. Also, should j use the comanche cross member or the Cherokee one? I know I need to do some modifications which isn't a problem just wondering what's involved
5. I'm headed to a machine shop in the morning to get a bronze bushing made
6. It just seems like somebody else would've had this problem. I can't be the only one
7. Is it a bad sign of no one responds? Lol. Seems like somebody's run into this problem with all the ax15 swaps out there
8. So i pulled it out and the sleeve around it. the new PB for the ax15 fits into the hole but not tight. you can easily push it in hand tight. what should i do? first picture: top is new ax15 PB bottom is sleeve and old PB ">http:// second picture: top is new ax15 PB both is old PB on top of Sleeve "> http://http://s1148.photobucket.com/user/Jackrabbit123/media/IMG_4043_zps8b8ncdai.jpg.html'>
9. Rent a puller (slide hammer type) from Auto Zone, pops right out So will that ax15 bearing fit right in?
10. So I've been doing the ax15 swap and I'm working on the rear main seal and pilot bearing right now. I have the oil pan out only because the gasket was leaking so i thought i should replace it, plus it makes it easier with the tranny out to. My question is how do i replace the Rear main seal and the pilot bearing. The seal napa gave me looks way different then the one i puled out and the one i pulled out is a 2 piece while the napa one is a one piece. Ive watched multiple videos on the RMS, but still confused. I have the pilot bearing that fits the ax15 output shaft but how do i get the old pugeuot one out and put in the new ax15 one? the ax15 PB looks bigger too. here's some pics. I'm hoping to be done with this in 2 days so as much advice as you can give id love, thanks! 11. I love that side exhaust, how'd you do that?
12. I always put a little grease on bearings before I put them in, but do I need to do any more then that?
13. Never heard of that before, what does that do?
14. Thanks and for the pilot bearing, should I get one that fits the cherokee I have or one for my comanche? I already have one that came with the clutch but I'm not sure what to use. I've heard different things in what fits
15. Last February I got mine when I was 15. Luckily mine has the 4.0 and a 5 speed. Check out my thread. Good luck and check for rust under your carpet
16. Ok thanks. That seems low but I don't know much
17. There's a chrome bumper that you can buy for cheap. Look at my thread I have one. The po put it on but I've seen them around online
18. Does anyone have torque specs for the clutch bolts? A mechanic at work told me I should get those
19. I had the same problem but it ended up being that my coil wire was touching something else and it was breaking the circut
20. Are you doing it yourself or taking it to drive line services?
21. See changes above Thanks and how much fluid should I put in the tranny?
22. Will the comanche rear driveshaft not bolt up to the t case without the cherokee slip yoke?
23. Will the comanche bread driveshaft not bolt up to the t case without the cherokee slip yoke?
24. So this is my plan for the swap. If anyone sees anything I need to add or change please tell me. I'm just trying to be as ready as I can for the swap this weekend. 1. Replace TOB 2 pull slave and master from parts vehicle 3. Get linkage out and brackets from parts vehicle 4. Remove driveline from comanche 5. Pull the clutch and a throng else that's in the way of the pilot bearing 6. Remove oil pan and replace that gasket and the rear main seal. Then put it back on 7. Put on new clutch and pilot bearing and whatever else is with the clutch 8. Put in linkage 9. Put in master and slave and pedal 10. Put in ax15 11. Put on t case (or should I do the tranny and t case at the same time already together?) 12. Put on crossmember and drives shafts 13. Put on shifter and boots. 14. Put in fluids (or should o do that before hand) 15.All done, no problems good to go (: (I wish)
