  1. I'm glad to see it coming back to life too! I signed in today just to see if any progress was made on it, it's been years since I've logged in and was hoping to see something! It sure is in a LOT rougher shape metal wise than when I sold it, the frame was still solid and the cab corners were just starting to get crunchy. Nice work!
  2. And where could I get one now, for, umm, my kids?
  3. I had well over $20k into mine, Stroker, new transmission, Alloy shafts, rear disk brakes, gears, ARB's, tires, wheels, winch, everything brand new. I had it listed for $6500 for over a year, ended up selling it for $4250 because I didn't have room for it at the new house. I don't feel like I took a $16k+ loss on it, I sold it for what others valued it at, at the time. Like Pete said, I regret selling it, and want to replace it, but can't justify spending the same amount, or more on one that is stock and needs work.
  4. That happened on I-69 up here a few years back, launched a few cars into the air pretty good!
  5. I always hoped someone came out with a metal panel that held LED bulbs and bolted in when I had mine. I picked up a spare set of factory ones, just in case a tree ran in my way. Now that I think of it, I still have that set sitting in my garage if anyone needs a set. I think one had the lens separate from the housing, so it's rtv'd back together.
  6. That's the same thing that happened in DC so our President could get a picture with a bible in front of a church. Tear gas, flash bangs and rubber bullets used to clear out the church (which was treating injured protestors and providing the water and snacks) so he could have a photo op.
  7. Our 'native' Detroit protesters were confronting the 'out of towners' last night, threatening them if they did any damage to the city. The Detroit protester have been peaceful, and try to keep it that way, but the hired help that was brought in are trying to change things. The police chief said that out of all the arrests they made, over 80% weren't from the area.
  8. I always throw the tires back underneath when I use jackstands. They may not be the tallest, but it'll at least give me some room to get out. Or at least not get completely crushed, I hope.

    Back to Work

I;ve been working from home the entire time. Our governer keeps extended the stay at home order, so my work from home orders are also getting extended. It'll be at least June before I go back as of now.

Yep, I've had good luck banging them on the ground to get them going again too!

I have an ACE hardware brand set, which according to the box are rebadged Gearwrenches, and a few other sets of Gearwrench, one with a flex head on it. I like those the best, can really go at it from any angle and they get a good hold on the bolt/nut. Only issue I've had with them is the mechanism gets dirty and they no longer ratchet, usually a good blast of brake cleaner fixes that problem. I found a set of stubby Gearwrench ones on clearance at Advanced Auto a few years back for $8 a set, had to buy a few sets.
  12. I received our stimulus check earlier this week. Really have no need for it, seeing as how we are both working. But I figured what better way to be an American than to pick up one of these: Just waiting for them to come back in stock at my dealer, apparently there are a ton of people purchasing firearms now.
  13. Thanks, we use our basement a lot, it's a good hangout space. Our house is a colonial, so the basement is kinda small, and the fullsize pool table eats up a ton of space. On the other side of that wall I put in a movie room as well, it has 3 different levels and an audio system that the neighbors can hear!

I used to use a file as well, this is so much easier and ensures it is a perfect bevel. Definitely not the cheapest, but so far it's worth every penny. The flare tool takes a few minutes per flare, but is really a no brainer once you use it for the first time.

I would say that is the same thing. I just used it to make about 20 flares, every single one came out looking like the ones you see on pre flared lines that you buy. I think the deburring tool helped too, it squates up the edge and bevels the inside and outside of it.
