  1. they remain as Jeep made them. the seats are in storage, not in a truck.
  2. does Novak adapters have anything useful? Painless wiring? I don't imagine any of that would be cheap though.
  3. just be careful about running shackles that are shorter than stock as it is possible for them to invert (meaning move forward instead of backward) after full droop (usually after the truck is on a lift).
  4. My uncle has had both biceps torn and fixed (not at the same time). He's recovered from both and is still adamant about having a stickshift in his future XJ.
  5. does that intersection have lights? crossing barriers? I've noticed an alarming number of train crossings down south that don't have them. maybe it's more rural than southern. although it doesn't always matter as we had a truck/train collision near my old house in michigan just a few weeks ago and that spot has lights and crossing barriers. the guy drove his tractor/trailer around them. idiot. https://wwjnewsradio.radio.com/articles/semi-truck-collides-train-downriver
  6. a 13k winch? I can't look at it without thinking of some marketing guy saying, "we need to one-up the competition. Give me more power!". That should be enough to get you out of pretty much anything.
  7. nope. buy that I mean that my 20 years of internet MJ fandom I've never heard of a single issue with removing it. the truck was designed before modern computer simulation and apparently overbuilt in that area. feel free to completely remove it in favor of a flat-ish floor.
  8. XJs and MJs have different length shackles.
  9. full-on camper bed?
  10. coming along nicely! lighting improvements are some of my favorite mods. I'm more or less blind at night.
  11. someone else will need to measure that. I only have a pair of rockers.
  12. front floor brace of a rocking XJ seat is 3" tall. rear is practically level with the floor. under an inch for sure.
  13. sure looks clean! oh wait, you live in a rust free state. what are the plans for it?
  14. dang it... doesn't anyone know how to take care of a tailgate? 86 would more likely be the AMC-20 rear axle don't forget rear flares, bumper if it's straight, leafs if they are cheap...
  15. depends on price. Looks like a nice higher end unit! same for the bumper which looks pretty straight. and tailiights of course. and I'll take that tailgate off your hands if it's clean.
  16. car-part.com can help with junkyard searches. or you're really lucky you might be able to find a cheap XJ on craigslist.
  17. um... let's see 7lbs 3 oz 19" Sept 4th at high noon (and after the MJ powwow )
  18. try jumping the wires at the switch and see if that does anything. and be sure to check each wire for voltage with an independent ground rather than only from one to the other.
  19. I split off his posts into their own thread. I probably should have locked this one then but didn't think of it.
  20. you could always swap them around with the rear packs.
  21. what do the plugs look like? wet? oily?
