our trucks rot from the inside-out, so just make sure you know what you're getting into by checking for filler in the rockers using a fridge magnet, pulling up the carpets to check the floors, and peering up both in front and behind the rear tire to check the rust propagation inside the bed.

ownership was never a requirement for membership. besides, it's only a matter of time before you're contemplating a track MJ I didn't realize they upgraded the brakes again. once upon a time we had a late 90s Grans Marquis that I eventually swapped out all the brakes (and other stuff) from an '02 in order to get the "big brakes" and eliminate the grandma-mobile ride. I may need to stop by and take yours for a test drive some day.

Problem one: wow, having some weird flashbacks to some of my engineering classes! but it seems like too many of those particular brain cells died years ago. Problem B: I'm guessing the grass gets buffeted around a lot and chances are it'll get nipped by one or the other? how wide is the gap?

all years of MJ doors are essentially the same, as well as 84-96 4dr XJs. plus 97+ can also work with the aforementioned latch changes.

Laredo was indeed top o' the heap. I'm thumbing through my 87 dealership brochure and interestingly enough it doesn't mention a tachometer in the "features" charts, but does show one in a picture of the dash.

they remain as Jeep made them. the seats are in storage, not in a truck.

does Novak adapters have anything useful? Painless wiring? I don't imagine any of that would be cheap though.

just be careful about running shackles that are shorter than stock as it is possible for them to invert (meaning move forward instead of backward) after full droop (usually after the truck is on a lift).

My uncle has had both biceps torn and fixed (not at the same time). He's recovered from both and is still adamant about having a stickshift in his future XJ.

does that intersection have lights? crossing barriers? a 13k winch? I can't look at it without thinking of some marketing guy saying, "we need to one-up the competition. Give me more power!". That should be enough to get you out of pretty much anything.

nope. buy that I mean that my 20 years of internet MJ fandom I've never heard of a single issue with removing it. the truck was designed before modern computer simulation and apparently overbuilt in that area. feel free to completely remove it in favor of a flat-ish floor.
