technically this would be for an XJ, but I guess there might be a reason for putting it in an MJ. anywho, I'm working on a hypothetical XJ build and looking to create a flat surface from front to back that I could use as a sleep surface (rear seats would be removed and replaced with a large platform). looking for something like this but a split folding bench. or I guess even these would work if someone could recognize what the heck they are out of. I would just prefer a bench. (I tracked down the pics and the original owner has no idea what they are from)

Pete M replied to whowey's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
somebody just finished his build -
Jim was around 80 and had a stroke a couple years ago. His health had been dwindling ever since, but he wasn't ill with anything. It was just his time and he went in his sleep.

Just got a call from Katie that Jim passed in his sleep. I'm so glad I got to get out there 2 weeks ago. Got to share some beers and hear a few more stories from an awesome guy that lived an insanely full life. gonna miss you ol' man

in my 06 liberty the abs, trac control and stability control are essentially all the same system and so when one single wheel sensor goes out, all those lights go on. (plus it takes out my cruise control too ). and I've learned it might not be a sensor, but could also be a broken wire running to a sensor or even the ABS computer dying. any failure in the system kills it all.

where is it leaking? from the side of the tank where the gas goes in? or from the side near the center of the truck?

1975 Brutally Simple Daily Driver
Pete M replied to neohic's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
I got a ride last week. and now I need an old Jeep too. it was a lot of fun tooling around town with a lap belt and no doors. -
don't forget, your leafs are also old and have been around the block a few times. as long as you retain your main, you can add in just about any combination of junkyard leafs you like. mix and match to find the load capacity you need.

welcome! be sure to start yourself a build thread too!

Longhorn Southfork package?
Pete M replied to Amccutc21's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
chrysler reused all sort of identification numbers over the years meaning that particular package was probably for a dodge ram some years later. I can assure you that it wasn't a thing on the comanches -
Pricing help on black interior parts?
Pete M replied to junkdealz's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
so... Tech is not a classifieds forum. if you'd like to sell your parts, you need just 5 more posts and the classifieds will open up for you. if you're confused about what prices to go with, please understand that buying and selling is a fluid process where as interested parties make offers and counter offers. your initial asking price matters far less than you think. so post up a a couple other threads to get to 10, and then put together a nice classifieds thread with pics and prices and then I'm sure the counter offers will roll in. -
I know of one that's south of Denver. If that's close enough for you to go fetch it, let me know and I'll contact them for some pics and details.

yeah, that was a lot of fun. I love seeing so many MJs in one spot!

it's not rusty, it just has the light-weight aero package. makes it faster. I had an 86 with the 2.hate engine. best part of that engine is the fact the 3.4 goes right in.

spellcheck is apparently overrated I mean, it's right there on the emblem! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Commanche-Fender-Emblems-1986-1992-Ford-Commanche-Truck-OEM-Fender-Emblems/113069792734?hash=item1a537c1dde:g:0A4AAOSwDZ1bJXLC

I grew up in the suburbs of southern michigan. spent a lifetime catching spiders and whatnot in little cups and taking them outside so they could carry on with their day. live and let live, I say. these days I spend a lot of my time in the backwoods of georgia and the 6/8 legged wildlife there can GO TO HELL! it's like living in a damn jungle. Everything is super duper aggressive, even the worms! I keep on top of the spraying and do it with a smile on my face, sometimes while muttering obscenities under my breath. see what you've done to me georgia? you've broken one of my core beliefs in ways I didn't think possible.

looks like a solid platform to build from. be sure to add details in your signature. -
wow! that's a decent chunk of change!

Help is greatly appreciated.
Pete M replied to Pannicthrottle's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
documenting your build and sharing with friends is precisely what this is for. I'm just saying that if you have a question about a thing, the Tech forum will get more eyeballs looking at it and thus a better shot of getting the answer you seek. not everyone looks into the projects forum.
