I have one of those that was my grandfather's. I've tried to use it a couple times drilling through wood. couldn't fathom what it must have taken to go through steel. life was definitely harder back in the day.

no need to wait. my Uncle just bought me a pair of the bigger batteries for the work I did on his sister's porch. We have the trim saw, sawzall, and grinder and it was long apparent that the stock drill batteries were insufficient. keeping to one battery is almost inevitable. I say almost because between my father and me they are all 20v dewalt these days except my baby 12v dewalt. It is one of my favorite tools. It weighs very little and isn't insanely powerful like it's 20v brother and so I find I have far more control over what I'm doing. Essentially I'm kinda lazy (impatient?) and use it instead of manual screwdrivers. I own the impact driver too for times I'm avoiding bit changes.

Tech questions should really go in the Tech forum so more eyes will see them. (not everyone peruses the projects)

yeah, a coat warmer would be sweet (assuming of course that it works in real life as well as it does in my head)

Time for new steering componants.

I *think* the drag link is identical to ours. -
new leafpacks are out there that will give you what you seek. Or you can get an AAL, but be warned that XJ AALs are frequently sold as MJ but will lift an MJ less than an XJ because we already have have more arch in our leafs. longer shackles will only give maybe a half inch. Because it only lifts one side, the height gain is only half of the extra length of the shackle (plus MJ shackles are already longer than XJ ones).

swap a dana 44 from a zj to mj

99 wouldn't be a ZJ. but it'll have the wrong bolt pattern. Liberty 8.25s are everywhere in the 'yards. -

Time for new steering componants.

Moog makes a good product. stock stuff works great on a stock truck, but I would upgrade to the v8 ZJ drag link. (or was it the tie rod?) one of those comes extra beefy on the v8 ZJs and is a bolt-in upgrade. -
"feel the power loss"? eek. the only extra thing spinning is the front shaft and ring gear. make sure everything spins freely.

sexy!

the fuel pump ground to the taillight ground. make sure it's connected (or take this opportunity to add in a new ground closer to the fuel pump) you should probably put the diagram request in the Tech forum so more eyes will see it. I'm sure someone has something.

I'm New! Electrical Gremlin HELP
Pete M replied to SlimShaney's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
a corroded socket can cause weird things too. look inside each one to make sure it's clean. -
it might depend on the specific brand. the stock suspension is the same, but the mounting points on the body are different between XJ and MJ and it all depends on how the lift's control arm brackets attach to the body.

nice!!! be sure to give it its own build thread!
