aftermarket steel rims will push the tires out more than stock rims so you'll need to be careful about that backspacing number if you're stock height.

that seems... odd. how does the steering feel? turns lock to lock ok? how do the track bar brackets look? has this shop done many alignments on a solid axle vehicle?

love it! when you're done, can you put together a DIY thread? lots of guys are looking for fuel pump/tank alternatives.

what is wrong with the steering box? is is very common for the track bar or steering linkage to go south and make it feel like a bad box.

not that I know of for an MJ, but Omix-Ada seems to make new SS drip mouldings for an XJ.

man, just looking at an old Jeep makes me want to jump in and drive!. even covered in snow. especially covered in snow! or maybe it's all because I haven't driven around in the snow in quite a while. stupid georgia weather. oh look... it's raining... again... the mountains must look just awesome!

looks like a great trail rig maybe. especially if you lived in a perpetually dry area. although the smell might be a bit much to actually retain that "patina".

I'm told that you can use XJ ones, just cut them short and carefully peen over the back end.

oh, the surprises you can find in old walls. decades upon decades of "upgrades" and "fixes" done by people that had no real idea how structure, water, or electrons really work.

the tank is bolted to the bed, not the frame. but don't worry, if you're agile, you can swap the pump while under the truck. the opening is in the side of the tank, not the top. which wire did you apply 12 volts? and don't forget that it takes 12 volts and a good ground to activate the pump.

run through Cruiser's renix tips, especially the grounds and fuse box. should be like the first link in the DIY link in my sig. don't just do the one you think might fix it, do them all. Every MJ needs them all done.

mostly I wanted it for working on my KJ. I was not looking forward to the suspension swap. but don't get me wrong, there are vast fields of carcasses down here that have never seen salt buuuut sometimes cars from the north come down here to die. for example the KJ that donated its light bar. that was a straight-up Michigan rig where I could see the carpet poking through to the underside.

dont' sweat it, we like pics but be aware that the photo uploader sometimes chokes on huge files so you might need to spread out the pics into multiple posts. and other times it works just fine.

also, be sure to fill out your signature with the basic truck specs.
