  1. those are all old tiny images. I still need to find the fullsize originals. there isn't a small flag on the american one. also I made a canadian flag truck.
  2. found a guy that says he can laminate the stickers to give a 5 year sun rating. the old ones had maybe a year or 2 which is why I stopped offering them. the question is will anyone want them. these ones:
  3. aluminum may not rust, but salt-belt guys will tell you that it still corrodes. it gets under the protective clearcoat and goes to town on it. eventually it'll get to the bead area and cause slow leaks. But, just like with steel, you can easily slow the progress with washing. thorough washing. be sure to get under that center cap. that's usually where it starts I'm insanely curious to see what will happen to the aluminum bodied trucks in a few years. salt kills all.
  4. AX-15 on the left, AX-5 in the middle, peugeot on the right I think it's a peugeot, which is not a desirable transmission.
  5. that's a pretty narrow bolt pattern for the trans. sure it's not a peugeot? I'll hunt some more and see if I can't find a more definitive pic.
  6. the reason behind the question is that I was thinking it'd be nice to tag the older build threads (where the owner hasn't been around for a while) with the highlights (single owner, v8, 2.5 to 4.0, 4wd swap, 4" lift, etc) for better browsing, but was hoping to make it a group effort rather than just me staring at a monitor for hours on end. Minuit tried to edit this post. Did it work? Oh yes, yes it does. I'm in Pete's head! MUHAHAHAHA!
  7. a picture might help yeah, 86s aren't unicorns, they are a mix of the old XJs (84-85) and the new tech coming up (like fuel injection). makes them a bit quirky.
  8. yeah, you'll need the LED specific flasher relay.
  9. yes. the higher the backspace number, the more the tire tucks in under the flares. the lower the number, the more they stick out (and the bigger the scrub radius and the more the touch the flares when turning) if you pull one off, you can measure and know for sure.
  10. buy from out west or down south and have it transported to your doorstep. then don't let it touch winter.
  11. that's a hell of a transformation! all the kudos to you!

    Memories of Jim

on a related note, I'm trying to figure out when I can get back out to Colorado to visit Katie (Jim's wife). she could use a hand tearing down and removing a couple of old campers/sheds that are still on property. I was thinking if we got enough helpers we could be done in a day (the "hauling it away" part is probably the bottleneck). then maybe a trail ride the next day! I dunno. Colorado is a loooooooong drive, so it's hard to make it happen. but it's still winter, so it's a worry for another day. :)

yeah, that might be my favorite story ever
  14. mine heated up the center armrest really nice
  15. good point. what is their particular achilles heal?
  16. members will only show up there if they listed both their town and state. Just the town would confuse the program and just the state would likely drop it in the middle of the state. I don't appear anywhere because it doesn't know what to do with "detroit or atlanta"
  17. is used an option or are you focused on rebuilds? I'd wager car-part.com shows some.
  18. alright, which one of you guys has been hitting the pipe a bit too much lately. https://www.ebay.com/itm/86-92-Jeep-Comanche-MJ-Factory-Dana-44-Rear-Axle-Assembly-Differential-3-55/123595080997?hash=item1cc6d74525:g:-g0AAOSwLgpcPTP-:rk:6:pf:0
  19. 4.5 is better for keeping the tires out of the fenders. what do you have now?
  20. they are getting harder to find in pullapart junkyards when to a couple big yards today and saw all of 2 XJs.
  21. have you jacked up the tires and checked the balljoints and bearings for slop? they should be nice and tight. out of curiosity, what's your caster set to?
