guess what just arrived at the doorstep. holy crap is it strong! lug nuts (ones that are properly torqued and have antiseize) are nothing. but then I fully expected that. I cannot wait until the next junkyard trip. I'm going to just walk around removing random bolts to see what the limit is. bring on the rust!!!!

I used to carry a bunch of crap in my wallet but over the years I kept buying thinner and lighter styles until I landed on the current fully-engineered-to-meet-the-minimum-requirements-of-holding-my-stuff-together edition: yes, I have the bikini of wallets. they only last a few months, but I've got a bag of them. I've whittled the contents down to license, health care cards, credit card, couple of bandaids and a comancheclub card. sometimes a bit of cash. anything else has a separate home at my desk and comes out only if I need it, or resides in my backpack that goes with me on any trip. but I realize other people have different lives that need different items. my father's wallet is at least an inch thick. ack.

take my opinions with a grain of salt as I don't have much direct experience with the later stuff. hopefully one of the guys that does will see it and chime in.

also read through the "most important tips" thread at the top of this forum.

after fluids and rubber bits, I would do the electrical. Cruiser's renix tips are like the first link in the link in my signature. do them all. especially refreshing and adding grounds.

rocker guards take very little steel to do. just find a local steel place and buy what fits your design. I went with 2x2 square for the guard, 1.5" round tube for the runners, and 3/16" plate to spread out the load at the frame. make it into what you want

sure sounds like you've got the bases covered.

yeah, I remember my first real damage. smashed both my rockers on a simple trail ride just about the time I was contemplating putting in rocker guards.

it might help if you included the year of the truck and which drivetrain you have. you can put that info in your sig.

the link in my sig has a CAD-delete procedure. as jdog said, get yourself a factory cover and do the delete procedure and you'll be good to go.

that would vary wildly with the owner's experience and how many hours they can give it each day. There are guys out there that have torn apart so many Jeeps that I'd wager they could do it in a long weekend. for the rest of us mere mortals, it'll take weeks. also, you'll be swapping just about EVERYTHING from one to the other, not just motors. wiring, trans, etc.

that headlight relay upgrade is one of the best mods!

honestly that sounds more like corrosion in the cables or bad grounds than the alternator. have you run through Cruiser's Renix tips yet? should be right at the top in the DIY link in my sig. also, be sure to make a signature of your own

looks like a solid project in need of tlc. like most old Jeeps. well, certainly like my old jeeps.
