do any renix era MJs have a low washer fluid sensor?
Pete M replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
dang. was cleaning up my clusters and was wondering if I should put bulbs in those spots. -
these are where the attachment christmas trees are. note that you can also push up on them with a reduced risk to snapping the plastic if it has become brittle. these tools are a godsend on the christmas trees

Must have MJ upgrades for a cross country drive?
Pete M replied to jazzyjeeper's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
it's a 30 year old truck with a solid front axle. It'll never be a modern car with IFS and rack-n-pinion. -
it's the human condition. we tend to glom on to the music we experienced in our formative teenage years. which is weird when you think about the fact that listening to music whenever you want (radio, records, CDs, etc) is a quite recent development in the human timeline. I wonder what people listened to back when if you wanted to hear it, you had to play it. sang songs I guess?

I mean, it's your truck, you can change it up as you see fit if you're willing to put in the legwork. you can still buy up a 91-95 XJ and swap in the OBD1 wiring and interior. these Jeeps are like Legos and anything is possible. but you're going to need to do your homework to know what specific parts to use and what tweaks are needed to run old stuff with new or new with old. the link in my sig is a great place to start

every single gap or opening in the cab has leaked for some poor soul at some point in time. they should ALL be inspected and renewed. I once had a windshield leak in my 86 that dribbled down inside the A-pillar before trickling out at the floor.
-
that's smart. don't forget to check the HVAC seal and windshield too.
-
looks fantastic! did you ever find the water leak?
-
you'll need a shorter rear driveshaft

NOS Hood - $100 - Seattle, WA
Pete M replied to Ls2xjcomanche's topic in Craigslist/Marketplace/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
yes. the hood didn't change when the fascia and fenders did. -
car-part.com and be sure to search for various years of XJ since the site lists strictly by part number and those might change over time. don't forget you'll want the crossmember/mount and shifter handle/tower too.

I've been giving some real thought to getting the tank down from the attic. but then I remember how hard it is to get the humidity out of a house in Georgia in summer and hesitate adding more in.

I fix other peoples' cars and houses too.
