I mean, I for sure would bring my truck back
  4. that makes sense. he said he had swapped dashes. I guess from a 95 XJ.

@eaglescout526 the last couple I edited said they were Switzerland Export.
  6. whoops. missed that one. NHQ is a code that chrysler eventually reused for some newer model so it means something different for your truck. the list you see, while lengthy, should be much longer, but a lot of AMC information was lost before it was put into Chrysler's computers so early models are sparse compared to late. if you look at a 1992, it's waaay more complete than a 1986.
  7. ooo, that's a good one! expect a failure! and then don't be standing where the fast moving items might fly.
  8. we should probably @ him just in case he doesn't see this. @Eagle

@eaglescout526 any chance you can grab this printout today?
  10. I think that's an extra strap in the bed.
  11. something I've come to realize during my 46 year tenure on this planet is that technology moves every forward and my own personal worrying about it doesn't change anything. so I don't dwell on it. my personal ride has broken ABS and I like it better that way. but I don't give a single thought what the other hundreds of millions of drivers are doing. that's for them to figure out.
  12. I wouldn't read too much into it. I've had friends back when I was young that couldn't reliably drive inside the lines.
  13. who has some pointers? not all have to directly apply to the photos below. I'll start off with... ------------------------------- never be in a hurry. think things through. the physics of 2 tons rigs and high tension wires is rarely forgiving and should not be rushed. do NOT mix bungee recovery straps with static load straps. be aware of what your weakest link is. weight bags are your friends. booze is not your friend. speaking of friends, clear them all out of the way before yanking or winching. yell at them if you must. only attach to proper recovery points on the 2 rigs. just because the other guy has an offroad bumper doesn't mean he attached it correctly. axles are not proper points. neither is a tow ball. nor are those little holes in the frame used to tie down a rig for transport. some recoveries really are best left to the professionals. a tow bill is not worth your life.
  14. 85 pounds
  15. the factory method must be followed or else it can never bleed any air that might be in the emergency line running to the rear prop valve. the link in my signature will have it.

no idea of year. another random vin pic from the internet.
  17. no idea what year. just a random pic of a vin plate
  18. check car-part.com and your local facebook marketplace.
  19. I think some of this irritation might be more of a manufacturer-specific issue. the Tacoma worked great and only did things if I purposely turned it on. far as I know the durango is the same, but we shall see. as with all new technologies, there's a learning curve.
  20. The Tacoma's furthest setting was perfect for a 2-3 second follow on the freeway. the closer settings did the same for slower speed roads. I used it on every single road I was on and was very impressed. (the auto-braking only happened when the cruise was on and even then only until you were down to 28mph then it shut off and left you to your own devices, which was weird) we shall see what the Durango is like. there will always be a learning curve with new tech, both for the users and the manufacturers.
  21. does it have to be factory MJ? other small/mid truck benches can work too and are much more comfortable. if you need MJ, be aware that the benches only got headrests starting in mid 1990. before that the glass is your whiplash protection. oh, and raybuck makes new covers for one of the two MJ benches. (I can't remember if it's the column shift or manual)
  22. I love it! what do you keep in the drawers?
  23. 20 years ago I might have agreed with you, but Georgia has been proving for 10 years now that they don't need fancy cruise control in order to stare at their phones while driving.
