  1. my life is worth more than a tailpipe.
  2. "no rub" on the street is different than stuffing a 33 while flexing and turning and flooring the gas is a whole other thing. I have 33s and regret it. (on that topic I have a 44/9" and regret those too.) so much work for very little actual real world benefit. but my truck was rusty when I built it and even more rusty when I started using it on trails so it's not like I was trying to preserve her. of course, she was only like 15 years old then. wasn't a collectors item yet.
  3. there's a LOT of difference between a 31 and a 33. the MJ fenders are all sized for a 30-31, not a 33. the axles are geared poorly for stock size tires, let alone 31s, and certainly not 33s. plus axle and ujoint strength starts to come into play with 33s. are you sure an extra inch of tire radius was going to get you through whatever obstacle you wanted to try? lockers are more important than tire size.
  4. was referring to the stainless trim that runs along the top of the early headers.

    Rear Window Trim

in theory a nick in the trim piece should affect water intrusion. in theory.
  6. the stainless ones I've found over the years were either perfect (but needing a polish), or smashed up. I don't remember ever going "well, it's sorta good". so I'm optimistic.
  7. I can't wait for car show season to get here!
  8. I would stick to 31s and a 3"-4.5" lift. 33s are a headache, especially if you're not doing anything that actually needs them.
  9. well, first question is: what will you be doing with the truck afterwards?
  10. yup, 4dr front doors are the same doors as ours.
  11. except for that $2500 non-refundable deposit but we only went to one dealership so others may have different rules. but either way I've found that there are tons of '22 R/Ts out there now with the features we want, so it should be just a matter of snagging one.
  12. old Jeeps don't like to sit, that's for sure.
  13. I learned that it's a 2-4 month wait if ordering. so we've gone back to patiently waiting for acceptable candidates to pop up already built. I'm actually going to be making some phonecalls later today and will update after.
  14. history! love it! you might have the first Pilot I've seen sporting the CC swag.
  15. might be waiting for a bit. this winter is a wild one.
  16. yeah, I gotta go for a drive, for, uh, testing purposes.
  17. they are worth whatever they are worth to you. they are too rare to have some sort of "market price".
  18. ownership was never a requirement for membership.
  19. oh, you definitely don't want my desk then. no one needs to see this mess.
  20. the plastic aftermarket header panels don't get high marks, but the plastic inserts like the grille and side pieces seem to be ok.
  21. this one? https://comancheclub.com/topic/68376-1j7ft66s4nl202517/
