the goal (aside from getting owners their truck's data) is to get enough of them to be able to fill in the blanks lost when that basement flood got the records room at AMC (at least that's the story we've heard about why early years are so sparse while later years are more or less complete). we might not ever be able to achieve this goal, but ya can't succeed if you never try.

I've edited out the common errors and reused codes. sorry, but the truck never had rack-n-pinion or a powdercoated bumper.

there are several chevy v8 swaps in the Epic Tech section if you want to skim the threads for what they used.

do they have headers specific to the conversion?

what motor mounts are you using?

is the tire centered in the wheelwell? this pic seems to indicate that your arms aren't long enough since the coil is bowed. did you find the chart with arm lengths vs lift?

the shims and that pocket are identical to XJs. the bracing is behind that part.

the link in my signature has threads for both measuring height and a chart for arm length vs lift.

WJ arms can be found in a junkyard for cheap. are your current lowers long enough for the lift you have?

stock upper arms shouldn't be used with a 5"+ lift. and if the lowers are anywhere near long enough for that much lift, you can't really use them with drop brackets (too long). I'd probably get WJ lowers and uppers and combine those with the drop brackets.

how much lift do you have? are your control arms long adjustable? if not, how long are they? (bolt-to-bolt)

if you didn't know yet, the cherokee HO years got a much better quality plastic for the front wheelwell liners. I don't know the start year for this, but up to 96 will work.

it's at the dealership. still waiting on a call from the finance guy so we can figure out if I'm dragging one parent or both or none with me to Kentucky.
