Just to reiterate the point of being self-sufficient, today I discovered that I drove to Florida on half my trailer brakes. Seems the dealership that installed my 45* axle (to replace my sagged out suspension) used household twist connects to reattach the wires they had to cut... and shockingly enough one failed. And they didn't even bother to waterproof anything. They had to do the work so I could get the free replacement axle from Dexter, but I hate letting people touch my stuff. Thankfully I brought my electrical bag (I always do) and have made temporary repairs. When I get home I'll be redoing it again proper-like (plus replacing all the sensor wires for the tanks which are factory but look sketchy as heck).

I passed a built MJ on a trailer on the trip south. Made my day.

Filled up for 3.47 at the Buccees south of Atlanta but it's 4.10+ near Orlando

Don't forget that a tent can quickly double the sleeping space of any RV.

As with cars, you can buy a slightly used model which should be cheaper plus the previous owner would have taken care of any initial issues. Oh and take note of any lead times for new ones. The last couple years have been weird and some brands can be months out after your order yours

Ironically enough I'm camping at the moment and can't fire up the laptop to give your link a good looksie, but I can suggest seeking out a forum or Facebook group dedicated to your specific brand. I've always gotten the best tech answers for our Lance trailer from people that actually own a Lance trailer and are familiar with their quirks. Track down the schematics of the walls if you can. They have wiring and studs and such like a house and knowing where those are can help immensely for changing stuff up. For any drastic mods, you might be at the point of selling and buying a different camper. RVs and trailers need to survive simultaneous hurricanes and earthquakes for hours on end. Anything you do needs to hold together.

it'll come down to your particular tastes then. for a single person just about any trailer will work great. gotta get inside one and go through the motions of your day. I do hesitate calling that "theater seating" when the TV they include is only 32". but I do love a couch if I'm in the trailer every day.

just 2 of you in it? what are the specs for your tow rig, specifically the max tongue weight?

feel free to try your hand at metal work and pull the fender to pound it back out from the inside. it's totally fixable by a pro. a new fender would be cheaper than that though.

spotify failed me miserably on the drive back to GA (found out once I got in the car that morning that none of my saved music was available to me ) so I listened to CDs for 12 hrs. full albums! old school, baby!

I'll be pushing my dad around Disney in a wheelchair all week, so there will be copious amounts of exercise too. but also relaxing.

my 88 MJ doesn't have a single Chrysler part in it. all AMC. takes time for parts to get designed and for changes to happen. unless collaboration occurred between AMC and Mistu many years earlier, I'd say there's a 0% chance of direct swapping. but with modifications and patience, just about anything is doable eventually.

I wish. I've only got 2 days to get the durango, trailer, and my folks packed and ready for their big camping trip to florida and then I get to drive 8 more hours to get to Lake Louisa state park. but next tuesday I might get to relax.
