  1. same as the last one... like an absolute dream. though next time I rent a dolly from uhaul I'm bringing some wood wedges to shut those ramps up. I had some success limiting their movement with a ratchet strap, but sheesh those things are noisy.
  2. what an insanely stupidly long day that was. but we all made it home safe.
  3. he means "calendar year". the model year 86s came out in july of 85, 87s came out in july of 86, etc.
  4. the 86 carb senders don't have provisions for the fuel pump that most MJs need.
  5. far as I know, they are only available used.

epoxied a neodymium magnet to the back of my drill. haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but am looking forward to letting it hold bits or screws or whatever.
  7. just dad. it'd take another week to get stuff mailed back and forth for me to then do it on my own. but at least I don't need to drag mom along. 13 hours is a loooong time for her to be sitting.
  8. ahh, nothing like a long drive at the peak of gas prices. lol. costs be damned, we're heading to Kentucky tomorrow to pick up the Durango. tomorrow's post should include a photo of the new beast.
  9. most impressive a job that many MJs need.
  10. as I understand Cali engine swappin', it had better be an originally diesel-equipped rig if you're going to swap in a modern diesel engine.
  11. testing procedures for various sensors are in the link in my signature
  12. https://www.youtube.com/c/BattleshipNewJersey/videos I'm including this one in particular because it lists a bunch more museum shop channels in the comments
  13. wow, that pops!
  14. spring is coming
  15. haven't heard that about the YJ shift boot, but it'd make sense that they are similar.
  16. love it! do be careful about the XJ shackles. when coming down off a hoist, it's possible for them to invert and bed the main leaf up. just keep an eye on them.
  17. just drop it by my house and I'll take good care of it while you're gone.
  18. a bittersweet milestone for sure. I guess you'll need to update your signature.
  19. even more edutainment https://www.youtube.com/c/NotWhatYouThink/videos
  20. and the lift height thread:
  21. fixing the control arm length should be FIRST on the priority list. they are the things that put the axle where it needs to be, and the coils where they need to be, and everything where it needs to be. you're fighting the poor geometry and trying to bandaid a thing that should be a problem in the first place. fix the geometry and everything else will fall in line. found it down in the "suspension" section:
