  1. That right there is what I did... You'll definitely hear it then lol.
  2. I'm running the stock steering for now, on 31's. It, too, is lifted 5.5" with an SOA 8.8. On my XJ, I run IRO OTK steering with 33's.
  3. Check this out: It's the blower motor resistor, and they are known to over heat, and go bad, or melt the hell out of the plug, and burn the wires, thus not working.
  4. Ok, I'll definitely take it. I'll PM you when I get a chance to get out that way. Thanks man!
  5. I want it, I just don't know when I'll be able to get out that way lol. Do you ever wheel out at Uwharrie?
  6. OK, I thought so. Thanks for those part numbers, Don!
  7. Does anybody know the part numbers for the Dana 44 wheel cylinders? I was told the Dana 35 ones are different and likewise, I've been told there's no difference. Parts store isn't much help, either.
  8. The reason 1.25" spacers are so popular for the stock Jeep rim owners is because the factory rim has 5.25" back spacing, so with spacers, you'd go down to 4.00" of back spacing. At least that's always been my mentality. Not sure why you want to have the rear rims spaced but not the front (unless I read wrong). As for the gears, 4.10's would be ideal with 31's on a 4.0L / AW4 equipped Jeep, but not inherently necessary. I ran 3.55's on my XJ until I so happened to stubble upon a 4-banger / 5-speed XJ at the junkyard, on a 50% sale no less, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pull them and swap it in my rig. I now run 33's and I hardly notice a difference in pulling power.
  9. Thanks Sean!! Got a few more things I want to do to the ol' girl. And some new tires lol.
  10. Here's a great 7 part video I found in my research. This guy knows his stuff and I'll be following it to a tee when I decide to start this. http://toolsandtime.com/transmission.html
  11. Is this a good kit? <AX15 Master Rebuild Kit - Power Torque> Does it include everything I need? Also, any good how-to's or DIY tutorials that y'all know about for a first time rebuilder?
  12. HEY!! You're the one I keep seeing driving around! I'm right by the Sheetz on Amelia.
  13. Is the thermostat itself sitting flush against the head? You shouldn't be having that hard of a time with a good seal, three times over unless the parts are not mating up smoothly. All the old gasket and Permatex scraped off prior to the new parts being installed?
  14. Not speaking from personal experience, but from all the research I've done when I was thinking of going V8 swap, I concluded that the stock 4.0L radiator is not sufficient to keep a V8 cool. With that said, I would NOT recommend that. You could adapt a V8 ZJ radiator. I've seen that done.
  15. Been a while since any kind of update. I have been working on the truck, here and there... Working OT has taken away a lot of time from messing with it, but I've got a newer engine in it in recent months. Got it fired up today. Still a long way to go, but here's a quick teaser:
  16. I went SOA with mine using the stock leaf packs, then Rubicon Express 4.5" coils + 1.5" spacers up front. I have minimal rake.
  17. I had no idea Rusty's made these for the MJ... that's sweet.
  18. Napier, Rugged Ridge, Bushwacker... just to name a few. Google will yield more, I'm sure.
  19. If you have slop in the steering shaft, it could also be that the rubber bushing has devulcanized, which is fairly common for a 25+ year old part. I saw not too long ago where someone removed the shaft, welded it solid, and once again has tight steering. <Original thread>

  21. Too many projects!

  22. Not sure if you have a SWB or LWB MJ, but I just did a SOA swap on my LWB MJ and I'm still able to use my SY-style rear drive shaft with no vibes.
  23. Looking good, man. Are you planning on building braces for those control arm drop brackets?
