  1. You probably set the distributor in the block wrong. Look over this and check over your work. It's how I've done many, successfully. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/timing-4-0l-508405/#post4686013
  2. Never ran them, but have heard multiple accounts of their customer service sucking horribly and orders arriving months after being placed or just never arriving.
  3. Some of their main servers went offline and they've been working to restore them, according to their Twitter updates. https://twitter.com/photobucket?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author
  4. Drown the pump noise out with a louder exhaust! lol
  5. That truck is beautiful... . :MJ 1: .
  6. Would be better if it had an AMC 401 in it... Not a fan of Chebby motors in Jeeps...
  7. Any year MJ from '86 - '92 or XJ's from '84 - '96 should work.
  8. I can't second that enough. I agree, and if it were a rig that I was going to keep and need 4WD often, I'd totally do that. However, the truck I need these for is being restored and sold for profit.
  9. Yes! Those are the two I need. PM sent.
  10. I just pulled the part number from my AX15 equipped MJ. It's 52077574. The picture I posted above was just one I found on the internet from a TJ for reference. Took about an hour just to find a picture since I haven't a clue as to what it's called.
  11. Here you go: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Line-50305-MT-90-Oil/dp/B002INX20C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1453131313&sr=8-2&keywords=redline+mt-90+gl-4 GL-5 is bad due to the level of sulfur friction modifier that will eat away at the brass syncronizers used in the AX-15. The factory owner's manual is mistaken and it should have never been printed in there. Good job, Chrysler.
  12. Anyone?
  13. Does anyone have this bracket, seen below, for sale or trade? It mounts using the two driver's side transfer case nuts/studs. When I got my transfer case from the JY, I pulled it from an automatic XJ and grabbed its bracket thinking the two were the same... Clearly I was wrong, oops... If anyone has one for sale, or would be willing to trade me an AX15 one for my AW4 one, please reply to this thread or PM me!
  14. I haven't been following this build like I should... Last time I saw it was in early 2014... I just went back through it and all I can say is you have done one AMAZING job. I'd buy you a beer if you were close.
  15. Thank you, glad someone else was thinking it.
  16. ^This. And once you get those inverted torx bolts out, replace them with as standard hex head, Grade 8 bolt, with a washer. It's a 3/8-16x1.75" Hillman P/N: 43191.
  17. The actual long block from any '87-01 XJ's ('00-01 being not so desirable for a few reasons), any '93-98 ZJ's, '87-92 MJ's, and which ever YJ's had the 4.0 will be compatible. You can swap over everything from your Renix engine including the intake manifold, or, if you desire to keep the HO intake manifold, you can swap the sensors over from your Renix intake mani and the only hard part is adapting the Renix TPS to the HO throttle body. Even that isn't terrible, and if you want to go for easy, Hesco makes a sweet adapter for just this. Or, you can DIY: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1100996
  18. Checked your bulb bases for corrosion within the sockets. That would be the next place I'd start.
  19. I meant the depth of the sound/bass, not base lol. I wanted to know how much bump it has and if it sounds good.
  20. ^^^This. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1145043&cc=1179839&jnid=422&jpid=0
  21. If I'm not mistaken, the fuel tank that came with the 2.8L equipped models didn't have a splash/reserve tray in the bottom. IIRC, that means you're able to use an XJ fuel sending unit (which are far easier to find and can be donated from your '89 XJ), without clearance issues. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that somewhere on this forum.
  22. The only way to replace it is pull the head or pull the whole engine... There is no easy way that I can see.
  23. What is the color blue you painted this with? That's a great color.
