  1. Nice!! I have a MJ 44 with LSD and 3.07 gear ratio, too. But, I'll be selling it once I pull it lol.
  2. If you want to clean it that stuff out, I highly recommend soaking it in undiluted Super Clean for 2-3 days. I did that to mine to refresh the connections and it dissolve it all. I spray it out with water, then hit it with brake cleaner for good measure, then blew it out with compressed air and let it sit for a couple days to make sure it was completely dry.
  3. Trac-bar is likely your problem. A stock TB is not too expensive.
  4. The shock mounts on your MJ are part of the U-bolt plates, therefore, there aren't any shock mounts on the axle themselves, unless you buy aftermarket ones and weld them on. Doing that, however, on a stock height MJ will cause you to lose up-travel unless you run shorted shocks. Since the 44 and 35 have the same diameter tubes, just reuse your current setup. Be sure you buy new U-bolts because of stretching of the old ones over the years. As for the drive shaft, it'll be easy peasy. The pinion, IIRC, is the same dimensions as that of the 35, and mounts the same way, so just bolt it back like it comes off. As for the disc brakes, that shouldn't be an issue either, but I can not say for sure just because of the load-sensing valve the MJ's have in the back, assuming your even works. If it does work, you could likely modify the rod length to put more bias to the rear since the calipers will need more fluid to adequately brake.
  5. Yea, regearing is an expensive job and not something the average Jeeper can do on their own. I wouldn't waste my money regearing a 35. $150 for the gears + $500+ for the labor to install. You're talking about potentially $650+ for an axle that will not handle what you could put a 44 or 8.8 would. I got an 8.8 from a junkyard, with disc brakes, complete to rotor-to-rotor, with 4.10's for just over $200. I bought spring perches, u-bolts & plates, and shock mounts for another $120, and pinion flange adapter (to adapt the driveshaft) for $40. Welded it myself, and went SOA lift. Cost under $500 and will still be rolling far longer than that 35 with the same size tires.
  6. I'd still like an answer... lol Didn't mean the dimensions of the box you used to enclose your sub. But I saw the next reply, so I got it. Thanks.
  7. I'd still like an answer... lol
  8. That's a bit overkill... I didn't realize it took that level of modification to get them to fit lol. They sure look comfy though, and as for the color, nothing a seat cover can't fix haha.
  9. Do you know what year 4 Runner those seats are from? I like them, minus the color. Wanna sell them? lol
  10. Not to side track, but I would love to have a Gremlin and swap a Jeep 4.0 and tranny in. That would be sweet.
  11. Congrats man!! Glad to see a lifted LWB win! I'm currently taking mine from stock height to roughly 6 inches of lift. My rear is done, just got to find time to finish the front lol.
  12. If you're knowledgeable on Chevy, you're in luck. That POS 2.8L is a GM/Chevy engine. As mentioned by Pete, if you're in search of a replacement engine, do yourself the favor and scout out a 3.4L from a mid '90s Camaro or Firebird. It'll be the easiest swap you can do to rid yourself and your MJ of that horrible excuse of an engine. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Project_XJ/Project_XJ.htm
  13. If I was going through the hassle of swapping tranny's, I'd find the aforementioned AX15 and get the Dakota bellhousing. If you are lucky enough to find an AX15 out of a '98-'99 (IIRC) Dakota with the 2.5L I4, then get that with every thing you can (bellhousing, shift fork, clutch and pressure disc, etc).
  14. Sweet find! That's so awesome.
  15. I paid $200 for mine and I didn't even have to pull it! I can't complain.
  16. That's a good idea, too. A lot less work, from what it seems. Did you drill that hole in the side of the socket?
  17. I hadn't gotten that far yet, but I was going to do something similar to this: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1100996 Right on, man! That's awesome. I'll start incorporating that into my conversions now that I've learned that. Alright, I'll see what I can do lol.
  18. I got to thinking, after a few HO swaps in Renix era Jeeps, I wanted to come up with a new way to adapt the Renix TPS onto an HO TB. Instead of multiple small pieces that could get missing when the need arises to swap a malfunctioning TPS, I thought a one piece bracket would fit the bill a little better. So here's what I've come up with. It's a rough prototype, and required some finessing, but it's functional.
  19. I'm not sure then... Perhaps a blockage somewhere in the system?
  20. Both? I'm not sure what you mean.
  21. You're kindly welcome. I'm glad it solved your issue. Lines set up in the right spots? Pics?
  22. Grounding issue? All the gauges share a common ground, IIRC, so that, too, could be the source of your issue. The ground for it runs to a 5/16" sheet metal screw under the dash, driver's side, by the courtesy-knee light. Check for continuity between the cluster harness plug ground and said grounding point.
