  1. 1986 Jeep Comanche • 2.5L TBI • 5-Speed • 4x4 • Big Ton • AMC 20 Rear Axle • Long Bed My Comanche must have been made on a Friday, because there's two different VINs present. This truck has been flying under the radar since it landed on the shores of Kansas way back in 86. When it was due for insurance renewal I noticed inconsistencies across the board. After a full month of rigamarole, a patient Highway Patrolman got this truck on the straight-and-narrow with the state of Kansas. Back in the day this truck was driven all around checking oil wells on rough limestone country roads. 2nd owner used it like a truck, but had it garaged for the 20 years he had it. Under its current owner she remains garaged, and is slowly being taken to its next level. I personally go with the dash VIN, but Kansas has the engine bay VIN as their favorite When looking closely, another VIN plate is riveted underneath A full month of leg work, and all I got was this sticker: The previous owner got the seat reupholstered Redlinegoods.com made this custom shift boot. It looks great, but their stock Comanche sewing template is too long. In the future I may reorder this boot with 2 or 3 inches of height removed.   2. Is this a good kit? <AX15 Master Rebuild Kit - Power Torque> Does it include everything I need? Also, any good how-to's or DIY tutorials that y'all know about for a first time rebuilder?
  3. Alright guys, I'm going from a 2WD Peugeot (internal slave) to a 4WD AX-15 (external slave) in my recently acquired '88 SporTruck. I've disconnected the lines at the slave end and clamped the hose for the time being. My question is, since I'm going to an external slave, can I just mate the hydraulic line from the Peugeot master to an AX slave? The master cylinder looks to be fairly new (PO said it was, anyway). Just trying to save money if I can because the whole hydraulic system, prefilled, is $100+ on RockAuto. Just the slave is ~$35.
  4. I have a quick question that I'm sure one of you gurus can help me with. I've been doing a little research on the AW4 to AX15 swap and I've seen where you can trick the AW4's TCM to bypass the NSS to allow it to start by jumping a couple of the pins in the harness. I was wondering though, would it be possible to wire in a clutch safety switch into that so that it can only be started when the clutch pedal is depressed? It sounds good in theory, just wondering if any of y'all have had success or know anyone who has done it that way.
