  1. I never found any at a parts store, I ended up getting one from work. (lots of big machines, they have literally a file cabinet full of every O-ring you could imagine)
  2. My 2.5 in 4th with 3.55 is right around 2800 at 65 Cruising at 75-80 she stays well above 3200 and doesn't seem to mind. I dunno if they changed it to a direct signal from the ECU for the Chrystler system, but my tach in my 2.5 came straight from a 92 4.0 HO XJ and I never turned an adjuster, but it reads accurately.
  3. I've got a D30/8.25 4.10 set waitin to go into my 2.5 Can't wait to ditch the 3.55 on that dog.
  4. It is literally as easy as you listed. Everything is bolt on, other than that you'll have to drill four little holes for the linkage bracket on the body to be mounted. There's dimples there, so you'll know where to drill. But yeah... just move everything over. If you're dealing with automatics you may have a problem with the trans computer year. Not sure though. Best way would be to have your rear driveshaft cut down. Gonna be a lot easier than finding a shaft that's the right length.
  5. Bring it down here and we'll get it good as... well, when you got it anyway.
  6. I got both 2wd. 2.5 4wd conversion was done a year ago, and the 4.0 actually has a CAD D30 on it, but still stuck with the 2wd trans. One reason of that being is the PO had welded the crossmember to the framerails instead of bothering to remove the busted studs.
  7. Neither of mine came with a CAD :rotf:
  8. They did the joint without pulling the bearing or dropping the knuckle?
  9. I don't know about pinion angle, but I'm pretty sure the distance between the perches is different. The physical width of the axle is the same though.
  10. My girlfriend's originally from RI, and I found out recently that her dad used to have a Comanche. It was either an 89 or 90, and it was white. That's about all I know. I'm still trying to find a picture of it, but it'd be cool if it ended up with someone on here.
  11. 1. The AX-4/AX-5 will NOT bolt up behind a 4.0 2. 4wd swaps are a lot easier than they seem. 3. Dana 35 axles suck. They are a weak axle for sure. I'm fairly sure the one in my 2.5 DD is on its way out.
  12. A broken Durex is what caused mine to be on the way... She's due in August. Congrats though Trick is now to get everything done on the truck before the kid comes, eh?
  13. Hm... I'm gonna have to go looking for those now...
  14. For the price of a new internal you could probably get almost everything you need for the external. If you're really planning on burning up AX-15s (which isn't easy), why not look into upgrading right away to one of the NV series, or the NSG?
  15. They're 8mm, just like all the other DS bolts. 10mm is a lot smaller than 1/2. 1/2 is 12.7mm.
  16. They didn't make Wranglers in 1996?
  17. When'd you get stuck there? I drove through Coralville Tuesday night, roads got bad and ended up crashing in a hotel in Marion. (not literally)
  18. Doesn't say what tranny it has, so you can't even guess what gearing it's gonna have. You're gonna wanna find out. Seems a shame to rip apart one that's running perfectly though.. Maybe it's something weird since it has a 4.0 inline v6
  19. USB CD ROM drive? :dunno:
  20. Floor shift kit and a regular gauge cluster.
  21. There are year ranges, however. I believe you'd need to use one from a 84 - early 87. Oh, and make sure the tach is configued correctly.
  22. Nope, the Renix and HO flywheels are completely different.
  23. If the engine was in front of an auto, it won't have a pilot bushing. You'll also need a manual flywheel. Other than the pilot bushing missing(the hole for it is there though) and flywheel the motor would be identical. Remember, by swapping to the HO, you'll need to swap the entire engine bay and dash harnesses as well.
  24. swb, swb, swb. I haven't had the experience of a lwb, but I don't think I'd like it. Every MJ I've ever driven(I believe the count is up to 5) was a swb. I started driving with XJs, and even longer wheelbase and wider turning radius of the swb MJ was hard to get used to.

Top two I made, bottom one, I don't remember where I found it.
