After deleting social media again, I've been watching more movies. I've been on an 80s and 90s classics run lately. What are some of y'alls favorite movies?

Too many to list honestly.
though I’m learning that the 80’s is a great decade for films.

I’m going on a kick of watching pop culture and cult classics though. I’ll also watch a certain actors filmography like John Candy.

Hard Times: Charles Bronson as Chaney.

Not sure how many parallels to the subsequent Rocky movies there are with Hard Times, but I loved them so this movie sounds right up my alley

in my opinion, I'd say twister, but I do meteorology so that's normal. the original twister is more realistic than the new. although on the first tornado, it jumped the ditch rather than stopping and lifting (as a real tornado would stop or lift before crossing, tornadoes can not cross deep ditches hence why they tell you if your in a car and can't get to cover, you get into a ditch)

The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951, not the 2008 one)

Really a great social commentary that still rings true today.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Brilliant dark comedy that demonstrated the absurdity of the cold war.

Not intended to be a documentary but it ended up being one

Commando.  one of the funniest movies ever made.  no, it's not a comedy, it was a super-serious action film.  that's what makes it so funny. :D

once you've seen the popular 80s action movies, then watch "The last action hero" and "The expendables" which poke fun/pay tribute to the 80s action genre.  you kinda need to have the background experience of the old flicks first.  Schwarzenegger is in Last Action and look up the main cast of the expendables and then be sure to watch at least one of their best flicks so you'll understand why they're there.  :D
