It's Saturday AM and have not seen any activity to CC since Wednesday/Thursday.  Is everyone on vacation or is there a problem with the website?

Well, the weather is getting nice here on the east coast and folks are waking up their dormant projects. They'll be posts soon enough. Speaking of...

I was checking CC on Friday and did not see new postings.  I began to wonder if there was a web problem.

Glad everyone is alive and well.

I took was on vacation visiting a friend near Hershey, PA.  Hit up Indian Echo cavern, the Carlisle import and performance nationals car show, and the Strasburg Railway.

If your ever in the area, I highly recommend the shop tour at the Strasburg Railway.

I'm also slowly amassing parts for the Comanche, projects coming soon!

CC is a great resource with a massive wealth of content, but people have a tendency to flock to Facebook.  The algorithm shows interesting content easier and commenting is quicker/more seamless.

I'm eagerly waiting for productive garage time to add to the build threads but at the breakout of summer there is soo much yard and house projects that I clash with responsibilities all the time lately.20250511_203403.jpg.897ba6023ab5f054ac1909070f8e0b96.jpg

Here's my truggy puking trans fluid all over my driveway - why IDK 🤷‍♂️...

Then there's this playset I'm trying to finish up to keep my kiddos occupied.

But I like the stainless

Mine were rusty and cam'd over. I tried normal chamfered bolts but the fitment was terrible. Oval profile is the only way.

Look for a set of JIS screwdrivers. I keep them just for difficult to remove Phillips and my Honda motorcycles.

Slightly different head profile on the driver thar doesn't "cam out" when over torqued makes a big difference when removing damaged fasteners.

Good call on using JIS. Unfortunately, the previous owner really wore out the original M4 bolts so they needed replacement.

My next question was where did you buy the replacements? I do love me some stainless hardware 😁

My go-to is https://boltdepot.com/

Yeah but they're not cheap. Just got in a delivery for 4 bolts and 4nuts for my front suspension and it was $22 shipped.

Sometimes ebay, etc has a quick link for a bag of 100 for cheap.

It's not everything, but BoxyJeep.com has a large selection of common replacement hardware for XJ/MJ.  These bolt kits are fully tested, verified, and in many cases better than OE spec and ship next day.
