One of my sisters drove an Aztek for a spell.  She couldn't understand why everybody else in the family considered it to be b*tt ugly.  I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't have dropped her on her head quite so many times when she was a baby.

Derf, I agree, spot on. I would say that has to be a hell of a blind spot on both sides but it probably has 24 cameras to show you what is going on around you.

my guess is that it's ugly on purpose to attract free publicity.  :dunno:

I mean...Elon did SAY that it would be divisive and "not for everyone", and I think that's proven accurate.  My wife thinks it's horrific, I think it's interesting...not amazing, but not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.  It'll be interesting to see if it shakes up other aspects of the truck industry as they are doing some wild changes to the traditional light-duty truck formula.

Looks like a Vector on stilts. Someways I like it, other not. Maybe the doors came from a Bricklin? Or a Bradley? Does look sort of like something out of a 70's SciFi movie.

Musk claims that Tesla already has 200,000 pre-orders for the new "truck."

I don't believe it.

I would believe that there are 200k people in this world that would plunk down a C-note for a chance to have the brand-new-next-newest-latest thing.  doesn't really matter what it is.  :(

He says it is better than any current pickup, but with its design, I don't see it ever being anything other than a niche vehicle like a Ridgeline, or Avalanche. Or just as a status symbol, which I think half or better of the current owners of hybrids/plugins buy them for. Reminds me of the Southpark episode where they were getting SMUG pollution from all the Prius owners!

Clearly no one is ever going to pick up a load of gravel with that thing , but I'm super curious as to its towing numbers.  :dunno:
