Reminds me of a story the son of a dear departed friend (Roger, about his dad Dale) told me. Now, my friend Dale, like me, was a big, tall guy, and his son Roger was a chip off the ol' block. But he drove a Geo Metro 4-door. Anyway, he told us about Dale flying to visit, and he picked Dale up at the airport. After they squeezed their big asses into the car, Roger asks him where he wanted to go first. Dale said, "To a hock shop, so I can buy a chainsaw and cut the roof off this car!" mjeff87
Well, that's ONE way to get AC in your truck.....

silvertwinkiehobo
I could do that to the S#!tbox, but I'd also have to put in a camper window....
mjeff87
I just noticed the Steelers sticker on the window. <<hangs head in shame and slowly shuffles away>>
Pete M
I also see a georgia sticker. if I had a 3 hour commute through atlanta and the AC went out, you'd better believe I'd be willing to do something similar.
mjeff87
Looks like a GA tag on the van in the pic too.....lol. I'm not a big fan of AC in a vehicle, I'd rather have the windows down. Of course, I don't do a lot of "city" driving, either, most of my miles are interstate. KJ blows nice cold air, but the AC in the Focus is dead. I actually drove the KJ to work earlier this week so I could have AC on the way home. 103 air temps with "feels like" 110 heat index is about my limit I might tinker around with the Focus one of these weekends. AC wasn't working when I bought it, and I've since discharged what was left of the charge in the system when I had to install a new PS pump and pressure line, so I at least need to put a charge in it before I start troubleshooting it. But it's not real high on my to-do list. Might be dealing with a hurricane or some semblance of one this weekend into next week. Gotta get my preps ready tomorrow (mostly just bringing it all up from the shed and checking things to make sure they're ready).
derf
I like to have AC for the really hot days. But since I moved to CO, I'm seeing a lot fewer of those. Humidity is also a big factor. The Denver area is usually pretty dry so it doesn't feel as hot. Back when I lived in high heat/humidity areas, AC was mandatory. I'm still not sure whether or not I'll put AC in the trail rig. But for a daily driver, I will probably always have it.
