I've converted completely to Gearwrench's 120XP line for my ratchets. I have them in every drive in flex head form. Every time I use a different kind of ratchet (even the Mac-Ons of the world) I remember why. Although these days, if at all possible to use a power tool, I will.

I have done some unholy things to my 3/8" drive ratchet that should have broken it. The handle is still perfectly straight and there are no skips in the ratchet mechanism.

Most of my Craftsman tools are from the 80’s before they turned to crap. Now most of the good stuff is Snap-on. I do have a few sets of gear wrench ratcheting wrenches I use all the time.

this might seem weird, but I'm not sure I remember the last time I touched my 3/8 ratchet set.  power tools and the 1/2" ratchet or my tiny 1/4" ratchet always seem to be my go-to tools.  huh.  :dunno:

My favorite ratchet for tight spaces is a 3/8 ratchet guts in a 1/4 “ swivel body.

I’ll take a picture next time I remember.

I’ve used one of those that was just a regular 1/4 drive body, no swivel and they are great. I just don’t have the cash for that stuff.

I bought a tool lot today. I’m not sure what the first tool picture is, and thought maybe one if you would know. Looks like some kind of scoring wheel. The other photos show some of the other stuff. Part of a 3 drawer craftsman set, part of a smaller craftsman set, part of a Stanley set, a diesel compression set, a 12v snap on charger (not sure how to tell if it works or not as I don’t own any snap on battery tools), a pickle fork set which I’m not entirely sure the brand, a puller, and a snap on ball joint press which I believe is missing some stuff. Everything looks like it came from the bottom of the lake so I need to figure out a way to remove some rust on them. So anyone know what the first tool is, or have any suggestions or comments about the rest. Any guesses on the purchase price of the lot?

Is the wheel to score, then the notches to grab it and break it?

Yes, wheel to score but notches I think are for edge clean up (bad break). If your score line is long you can tap it for a clean edge with the other end (ball end).

Interesting. I’ve never needed to use one before, but now I have one if I need it for some reason.

$40 was the number. I feel I did okay on it. I need to figure out what parts I’m missing and if I can get them for the ball joint press.

I imagine that snap on ball joint press is well north of $250 new. Not including the adapters.

Ok, I found some used ones for $450 with a slightly larger set of adapters than what you have. You got yourself a good score.

Is this why Dorothy is not in Kansas anymore? What does the building look like now?

The outside is 90% done. The inside is rewired, walls insulated and half done with particle board. Now that its getting nicer I can get back on it. It is built on a slope so you can see the concrete in the doorway is a ramp. PITA

Thanks, that would be me. I did it all. It seems I can't hire anything done I don't feel I could have done as good a job myself. Some things aren't 100% professional but I won't half @#% anything either.

List price on the BJP1 master set is ~$620 US, although I’ve only got access to the Canadian catalogue.
