buxmj
Wow, just wow. I just read this whole build thread and I am not worthy to be in the same thread as you. You are doing amazing work, thanks for sharing and thanks for being so detailed oriented. Now I must go clean my mj from top to bottom with a toothbrush and q tips. Buck. It's a lazier way to mark a thread for notifications. You can click the "Follow" link at the top (which doesn't make any notifications), but you can also reply to a thread and it defaults to setting the thread to follow as well (there's a "notify me of replies" option at the bottom of the reply thing and it's default is "on"). Pete M
it's also a modern shorthand for : "your project is super awesome and I need to follow the progress." I see it a lot on the faceybook.

Phillip Gwin
Very nice build. I am not far from you in Justin. You have given me some great ideas, along with some inspiration to do a lot cleaner work on my build. which restoration shop did you take it to for the body and paint work? Limeyjeeper
So I managed to source a lower radiator hose. I used a Dayco universal flexible hose 81141, Pretty nifty product. Also got the Battery located. I didn't like the way the stock battery box looked. It didn't support the battery as well as I wanted. The battery I used is a 34/78 Red top Optima part no 9003-03. 800a I moved it closer the the fender to give me more room for the intake. I used Rusty's Optima battery box. Pretty nice product. I had to drill new holes to change the angle but it turned out pretty good. Gave me decent clearance for the upper and lower radiator hose Also managed to mount the Warn 8000 controller for he hidden winch. Next job is dynamat the interior. Get the Dash installed and see what I need to get the double DIN Android radio to fit.
Limeyjeeper
So when I was at SEMA I came across a couple of products I am going to use in this build. The First one is the Decked drawer system. It has 2 drawers and two ammo bins. Really nice product. The Comanche bed is almost the same size as the Tacoma so with a bit of trimming it will fit. They have a short and midsize, I m going to use the short one because they I am also hoping to add this:- I am working with Truckcoversusa to hopefully build a custom size for the Comanche. I think it lasted like 5 or 7 years running gas through it 😆 so it should last forever probably for its intended purpose. I was quite happy with it. Good to know thanks !! Jeep Driver
7 hours ago, Limeyjeeper said: Good to know thanks !! I get the impression you will show your truck. Or at the very least show it off. NAPA and others will let you peruse their stock of hoses in the back of the store, your correct lower hose can/will be found. Don't want to clutter your build page, however, your intake tube/hose can also be found/created. As seen here around the 7:00 mark. The difference is in the details. And it matters. Limeyjeeper
I have a truckcoversusa.com cover with the "junior" toolbox being shipped to me on Jan 2nd. Once I get it I will install it and get some pictures together. These are not even remotely cheap but I think they are the best cover on the market. Limeyjeeper
This is the best cover you can buy. It supports 500 lbs. So you can stand on it. The cover is weatherproof. Made of aluminum extrusion. I only found very high ratings for it. Mine will be $2,500 including shipping. Yes a lot, but you get the best Tonneau cover available and that is what I wanted. Any rollup cover is going to be expensive because of the complexity of the mechanism compared to a tri-fold or soft cover.

Limeyjeeper
So I have been pretty busy with the project....... Got the interior Dynamatted and covered with closed cell sound deadener. Hopefully it will all help quieten her down a bit. Installed the Krustyballer Seat mounts along with some cross pieces to attach the PRP seats to. Fitted great. Spent a ton of time on the wiring harness. Integrated the winch controls, Rock lights, Bed lights, Wifi hotspot, Radio, AC Controls, Cruise Control, Radio, Park Brake, Lights on indicator, Full Time 4WD indicator, Backup camera. Had to identify a bunch of connectors. Hardest was the 4 pin backup switch. Turns out it is a Delphi connector 12065298. Available from Mouser, The harness is pretty much done. Next task is to lay it in the vehicle and make sure everything is the correct length. Wifey gets her kitchen table back soon!! Got a shark fin antenna from Mouser. It handles Radio, Sirius, GPS and Wifi which saves a lot of aggravation. It was only $100. Sourced an aluminum intake pipe and got it powder coated. I think it looks much better. AC compressor installed, Power Steering lines installed. I used the stock Corvette lines. High pressure is Gates 363180, low pressure I used Sunsong 3404066. I also had to get an adapter AC Delco Part No 36-350230 so I could connect the return to the Gearbox. Also sourced a lower hose. Took Jeep Driver's advice and went to NAPA and after much searching found hoses that worked. Lower hose Gates 21660/NAPA NBH7096. Upper hose Gates 22352/ NAPA NBH8985. When I pull the engine to fit the trans and transfer case I will move the mounts forward to give me a little more clearance at the front of the engine. I also managed to score a new 242J transfer case. It was really cheap, so I couldn't pass it up. It is for a ZJ, but it will work fine. Had to find the Speed Sensor (VSS) housing, as you can see it didn't come with the transfer case.. Luckily it is still available Part No 52068367. The Speed sensor is only available as a three pin, so I had to modify the harness to provide a 5v supply for the sensor. It then goes through the Dakota Digital SGI-5E converter box to give the GM PCM the right signal. Scored a really nice 97+ Center Console, just waiting on the hand brake. Will need a little finagling to fit, but the wife wants cupholders!!! Sourced the bracket from Dirtbound Offroad. Quality piece. Got to mount the amp, subwoofer and inverter next. Going to make a 1/2 backing board and cover it in carpet to mount everything. I sourced a Core shifters short shift kit for the AX15. I have one in my other Comanche. I powdercoated the handle. Chrome just wouldn't look good in this build. Thoroughly recommend it. Makes the AX15 much better. I got in a StinkyFab crossmember and transfer case skid plate. Beefy and well made. Will further help stiffen the unibody. Tried for ages to source an NOS charcoal canister, Ended up getting a very similar one from DeLorean Motors of all places. Part No 101109 $65. It is exactly the same size as the OEM unit and has the same ports with the vacuum valve. Next on the list is to install the heater box and the dashboard. Also decided to go power locks and power windows so I will be building the harness for those. Going to use the Electric-Life kit. My restoration guy says their kits work well. Also going to use the Auto-Loc power lock system. I have the switches, just need to figure out the connections. Scored both switches. Drivers is NOS. Also going to mount the Dirtbound Off Road Sliders. Gonna weld them to the frame. Should help with frame rigidity. Truck Covers USA tonneau coming this week. Will post pictures after I install it.
