Limeyjeeper
So I have been pretty busy with the project....... Got the interior Dynamatted and covered with closed cell sound deadener. Hopefully it will all help quieten her down a bit. Installed the Krustyballer Seat mounts along with some cross pieces to attach the PRP seats to. Fitted great. Spent a ton of time on the wiring harness. Integrated the winch controls, Rock lights, Bed lights, Wifi hotspot, Radio, AC Controls, Cruise Control, Radio, Park Brake, Lights on indicator, Full Time 4WD indicator, Backup camera. Had to identify a bunch of connectors. Hardest was the 4 pin backup switch. Turns out it is a Delphi connector 12065298. Available from Mouser, The harness is pretty much done. Next task is to lay it in the vehicle and make sure everything is the correct length. Wifey gets her kitchen table back soon!! Got a shark fin antenna from Mouser. It handles Radio, Sirius, GPS and Wifi which saves a lot of aggravation. It was only $100. Sourced an aluminum intake pipe and got it powder coated. I think it looks much better. AC compressor installed, Power Steering lines installed. I used the stock Corvette lines. High pressure is Gates 363180, low pressure I used Sunsong 3404066. I also had to get an adapter AC Delco Part No 36-350230 so I could connect the return to the Gearbox. Also sourced a lower hose. Took Jeep Driver's advice and went to NAPA and after much searching found hoses that worked. Lower hose Gates 21660/NAPA NBH7096. Upper hose Gates 22352/ NAPA NBH8985. When I pull the engine to fit the trans and transfer case I will move the mounts forward to give me a little more clearance at the front of the engine. I also managed to score a new 242J transfer case. It was really cheap, so I couldn't pass it up. It is for a ZJ, but it will work fine. Had to find the Speed Sensor (VSS) housing, as you can see it didn't come with the transfer case.. Luckily it is still available Part No 52068367. The Speed sensor is only available as a three pin, so I had to modify the harness to provide a 5v supply for the sensor. It then goes through the Dakota Digital SGI-5E converter box to give the GM PCM the right signal. Scored a really nice 97+ Center Console, just waiting on the hand brake. Will need a little finagling to fit, but the wife wants cupholders!!! Sourced the bracket from Dirtbound Offroad. Quality piece. Got to mount the amp, subwoofer and inverter next. Going to make a 1/2 backing board and cover it in carpet to mount everything. I sourced a Core shifters short shift kit for the AX15. I have one in my other Comanche. I powdercoated the handle. Chrome just wouldn't look good in this build. Thoroughly recommend it. Makes the AX15 much better. I got in a StinkyFab crossmember and transfer case skid plate. Beefy and well made. Will further help stiffen the unibody. Tried for ages to source an NOS charcoal canister, Ended up getting a very similar one from DeLorean Motors of all places. Part No 101109 $65. It is exactly the same size as the OEM unit and has the same ports with the vacuum valve. Next on the list is to install the heater box and the dashboard. Also decided to go power locks and power windows so I will be building the harness for those. Going to use the Electric-Life kit. My restoration guy says their kits work well. Also going to use the Auto-Loc power lock system. I have the switches, just need to figure out the connections. Scored both switches. Drivers is NOS. Also going to mount the Dirtbound Off Road Sliders. Gonna weld them to the frame. Should help with frame rigidity. Truck Covers USA tonneau coming this week. Will post pictures after I install it. Limeyjeeper
It is an addiction that I am proud to own lol!! The first Comanche I did in 2007 was much easier. Still a lot of parts available. Not so much anymore.
eaglescout526
Yeah...aint that the truth. Some parts still hide at dealers and at vintage. When that one member got a NOS rear bumper for his truck a while back just from having no bumper on his truck gives me hope theres still NOS parts laying around in peoples possessions. High2by
Looks like the whole cup assembly is for a passenger door but ended up in a drivers side bezel.

Correct it has part no 55002154 and RH stamped on the back. The drivers and passenger bezels are different. The slot for the handle is shorter than the slot for the lock lever, and there is a slot in the back of the molding for the lock lever stop. The driver bezel is part no 55002155. Does any one think Jeep did that to match the grill!? Really enjoying your build! You're not holding back on anything.

Limeyjeeper
Finally did a test fit of the engine harness. I had a few issues that I can now fix. The drivers side LS injector harness needed to be repositioned further to the drivers side of the vehicle. Just need to extend a couple of wires. The alternator wire is too long. The ECT (Engine coolant Temp) sensor is a three pin. The harness is setup for 2 pin. I am using the Camaro 3 pin sensor so I can use the third pin to drive the temp gauge in the cluster. I extended the Warn controller wires into the cab so I could mount the plug in the dash. Now able to get those wires the correct length. Also was able to get the High/Low pressure switch wiring the correct length. This is needed to give the PCM the correct inputs to run the AC. Got the right length for the Oil temp sensor, 2nd fan connection and starter motor trigger. Figured out where to place the Cruise Control module so I can get those wires to the correct length. I am going to have to create a hybrid cruise control cable using a cruise cable from a 2000 truck 15734164 and an accelerator cable from a Monte Carlo AC Delco part no 12554160. The accelerator cable used is the stock Camaro cable 12565560 Now I need to make the changes and do a full bench test before final install. I won't be wrapping the harness until the engine and gauges are running correctly. I am sure I will need to fix something.
