johnny quest Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 so this little guy will be joining our family in a couple weeks. He's a pure bred German Shepard, and about 5 weeks old right now. We can already tell he's gonna be BIG. Gonna be a trail dog for sure. Still trying to figure out names for him. Any ideas?
Dirteatr717 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Sweet! My Shepard is part wolf and is either running or sleeping, hard to keep up with him! Your little guy is def going to be large with those paws haha
ComancheKid45 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I always picture German Sheperds as K9 Officers.....So I'm gonna have to go with the name "Justice"
AeroNautical Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 He'll be a handful. How about Schäfer, pronounced "shay fer" for those non german speakers. It means shepherd, but sounds awesome.
jpdriver1 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 good looking pup --- ya'll gonna need a trailer behind the mj for him
JeepcoMJ Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 name him something not scary. like Owen, Herbert, Vernon, etc... then people won't be anticipating he's a big dog when you call him. Our shepard was named Massey after Massey Harris tractors (My dad was a tractor guy, and didn't want the dog...it was my mom's way of compensating. He was an awesome dog, only ever bit jahova's witnesses.
terrawombat Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Name him Bear...because that's what he looks like.
JeepcoMJ Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 rob just named his bear it fits Rob's dog, but it's not a very original name
mnkyboy Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I had a german shepherd named Bear. He was a great dog.
JeepcoMJ Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 stereotypical Jeep guy names for dogs Bear Axle Dana stereotypical big dog names Max Bruiser Duke Steel (or other variants pronounced the same) Call him "The Dude" lol
terrawombat Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I went biblical with Ezekiel. It's unique, but not manly enough. My GF calls him Bubby, which has morphed into Bubbles, Bubblecakes, Bubblewubble, etc.
JeepcoMJ Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 lol. my mom has 4 wiener dogs. one is named cocoa....he's a freaking coke-head or something. just acts blazed all day one is julia, which fits perfect because she's a little b*tch, and i dated a girl named julia who was one one is Lady (named when she got her). she is anything but one is Abraham. he's not good at telling lies (you know when he's done something wrong) I hate them all equally.
SW86 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Diesel! every p.o.s. with a dog down here uses that one.. pits usually get it... i hate it with a passion
ftpiercecracker1 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Name him dammit. So every time he won't listen you can say " Come here DAMMIT!!" :D
fiatslug87 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Great looking pup, congratulations. Sig (Sig Sauer) Kuno (derived from German word for "brave") Uli (Ulrich)
HOrnbrod Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Agree, give him a Germanic name to honor his ancestors, like Fritz, Dirk, Max, or Wolfgang (Wolf for short).
MJRemi Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 In keeping with the Comanche Club theme, I say name him Chief.
Dirteatr717 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 In keeping with the Comanche Club theme, I say name him Chief. CHIEF! Why didn't I think of that, you'll have chief riding in your comanche chief hahah
johnny quest Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 haha i thought about that, but the truck is known as 'the chief' around here, so it would be kind of repetitive/confusing
