Fleet mechanic for a public works fleet. Basically everything from a weed whip, to a wood chipper, to a police cruiser, to a dump truck, to a front end loader... Sometimes makes for an interesting day. The guys break a lot of stuff. One of the new guys, upon watching some of the repairs we have to do everyday, asked my coworker how it is that we don't have a drinking problem. We did just get in the new fleet of police cars, which are waiting to be upfitted. Looking forward to that.

Also the head union steward for the entire public works.

Welder/grindmaster/peon at a fab shop. I've made anything and everything possible from army laptop parts to ibeams (w36s) for the freedom tower in NYC. I'd say about 30% of our work that comes in is related to the subway.

You guys have some awesome jobs!

When to college at UNOH for High Performance Automotive Technology and Alternative Fuels. Worked at a Chrysler dealer right after school for a year until they closed a year later. No other dealers or decent small shops were hiring so I ended up taking an entry lever position at State Street Bank. 7 years later and a few promotions I’m now a Senior Pricing Analyst. Yeah I work in a cube but the money is decent and at the end of the day I’m eager to go home and work on my many projects.
