89eliminator Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Looks good , does the weight of the bumper drop the front any ? yup, not sure how much exactly but i would say about 1-1.5"
CWLONGSHOT Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I was wondering if that was coming?? Looks good! CW
89eliminator Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 is that level? nope, its way off :shake: I was wondering if that was coming?? Looks good! CW thanks! I'm painting it this weekend :D
freakjeep93 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 nice job it looks good .. now paint it :D
500 MJ Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 ...Sprayed on bed-liner is nice. I'm not talking about the crap in the paint can or the spray bombs either. Get it done at a body shop and you'll never have to touch it again... On the other hand, I do wish I hadn't had that done to mine when I think about modifying the bumper, welding new stuff on it and whatnot. I'm pretty much stuck with what it is now... Either way its looking good and going to look amazing once its done. :clapping:
89eliminator Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 it will be just getting sprayed by me. i sprayed my rock rails, rear bumper, rollbar, spare mount, and longarms with the same stuff and it holds up (except for the rails but thats only cause of dragging them on rocks).
89eliminator Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 blended/smoothed ready for paint this weekend :brows:
freakjeep93 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 nice job. how much steel did that take to build? I'm planning to make a winch bumper for my wheelin jeep eventualy so id like to lmow how much steel I'm gunna end up using
89eliminator Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 1 winch plate 3' 2x5" box tube 3/16" wall 3' 6" wide 1/8" plate 2.5' 2x3" 3/16" wall box 4' 1.5" DOM 3' 2x2" 3/16" wall box i don't remember off hand the amount of 1/4" plate for the mounts then there is the d-ring mounts which i scored from my pops shop but you can get those from JCRoffroad or something. all those measurements aren't exact either. i have some leftover (minimal) of about everything.
freakjeep93 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 okay kool i was planning on using dome 1/8 th inch steel for my body of the bumper and then id get some thing tough for the winch mount then id use some of my random tube ive got luing around
DJM/78 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Nice job ! Been keeping an eye on you ! One of the biggest gains to a heavy front bumper is it keeps those front tires tracking , its like having an extra dude hanging around on your hood . Mine was a big improvement on snow and sheer ice . Get r painted and its 420 time ! :chillin:
Go4Lo Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 That bumper and your whole truck look great! I've been following your build on JF. Nice job!!!
