Got it stuck in the snowbank in the end of the driveway. Took the other car to my interview. Came back and dug it out.

New clutch, new slave cylinder, gear oil changed to synthetic, and having flywheel resurfaced. bah! $$$! This is going to cost me as much as the purchase price of the truck. I'd do it myself but no time and its gotta get back on the road.

Finally got around to replacing the NSS on the AW4 (had a spare laying around) so that the reverse lights work again. The switch was working internally, but, no juice was exiting on the brown & white wire. I think the wire is broke under all that resin sealing the switches back side. I'll find out tomorrow when I chip all the resin out to see whats really inside that thing. If it only needs a little solder I'll have a spare switch again.

Washed it!

Hooray for crappy cell phone pics!!!

Almost 55 today and sunny, so it was perfect January weather to do it.

Washed the Escape, too.

And hosed down the driveway to get all the cinder off it.

Picked up a D44 rear (XJ) and now need to get it cleaned up, inspected, modified, and mounted. Also switched out shift lever on the AX15 to have better ergonomics.

I built some brackets to lower the engine an inch on the passenger side and 1 1/2" on the drivers side. The engine was sitting off center about a half inch and the air cleaner was hitting the hood. Let's all hope that it is enough for the air cleaner to clear the hood. The hood was just barely touching the very front edge of the air horn.

Rewired the front marker lights and headlights so they work now. :jump:

Had Rear tailights and functioning signals but no front marker lights, then me low beams went on me :wall: s'okay though it was two wires corroded/broke off at the big black connector on the drivers side behind headlight.

Went from the single core radiator to a 3 core and while there was a gaping hole in the front with the radiator out, I decided to change the water pump...it makes it really easy. Also got the ultra star wheels from the 5.9ZJ on it, it looks better to me:

Better shot:

Hacked on the old NSS today to see why its considered non repairable. Well you can't melt the resin covering the back, the wires under the stuff burn first. You can't chip the stuff out as tapping on it cracks the black plastic case easily. I doubt that you could grind the covering on the back off with a dremel without cutting into some of the six wires encased with the resin as their spread through out the stuff.

Conclusion: It's to time consuming to mess with it, just trash can it and get one at the JY. Oh, as I suspected when I swapped it out a couple days ago, it did have a broken blk/wh wire in the switch about a 1/4 inch into the covering on the back.
