Put a new power steering pump, pressure line, and resevior in it yesterday to replce the old one that took a dump on me last weekend while moving a refridgerator. When I originally did the conversion to power steering, I used a resevior from a late model Caravan, but its pump supply hose end was larger than the hose connection on the pump, so I just MADE it work. But this time I replaced it with a correct sized resevior from a Journey, so all the hose connections fit right. Nice and quiet again!

Realized my teenagers are going to be driving it for the next three years. :(

Put my all my (non safety related) projects on hold till they are 18 and done.

Was less than happy when I realized that also means selling my camper top and putting on a tonneau instead. :ack:

Had to crank up the Comanche, at -30 celcius.

Fortunately I have Mobil one synthetic oil, so it turned over and started pretty good.

Unfortunately the tires were frozen with a flat spot ground side. Driving caused a thump thump thump for a few miles.

Also there was a horrid scrap scrap scrap noise behind the instrument cluster.

I thought at first it was something wrong with the front left wheel.

When I hit the heater blower it squealed for a minute.

Shifting into second was a grinding affair if it goes at all.

All together it was quite the cacophony of sounds.

The good news once the truck warmed up, all is well.

Oops,

I almost took the grill off a while back to make a cover to help heat up the rad.

Now I've got more incentive, thanks.

Drove it to work last night, got out at 7am, went to Home Depot and bought plywood insulation and plumbing supplies. I really love those tie down rings inside the bed!!

Finally ordered some Herculiner for my bed. I'm getting the white to match the rest of the truck. Read nothing but good reviews everywhere I looked for herculiner, as theres no way Ill be able to afford having someone else do it. If this works out good, I may consider using it to paint my 86 MJ project if I ever start working on it.
