thats right... i gotta do gear before tire. its 3.55 as i counted, I'm planning to get 4.10

Hi. I would at least go with 4.56 gears minimum with 35 inch tires. I have 33's with 4.56 on my XJ and it is just about right. Check out this link for gear calculations. You can do side by side comparisons of different ratios. Enter stock values and then what you are going to. Your comanche is looking good.

hmmm i hear some where from that 4.10 is good enough for weekend warrior and dd with 35"

thanks for link and ill research more :)

and yea thanks your mj is looking good too

Its gonna cost the same to do 4:56, as it will to do 4.10, so why not just do the 4:56 and have it done right the first time? Youll be happier in the long run, especially with tires that big.

thats true so 4.56 then :)

ill try buy 4.56 same time as while buying the lockers- i always want Detroit truetrac though.

Wife got me an early Christmas present, a Gentex auto dimming mirror with HomeLink & compass. Beats the crap out of underwear and/or socks. Installed it today and it works great. It has three Homelink buttons, so I programmed both garage doors and the third for the garage lights. I likee! It opens the doors from almost a block away.

Side note: The instructions state the Homelink transmitter MUST have 12V constant power. NOT! I've worked with these before, they have sufficient memory to store the programming for at least two weeks, so use 12V ignition switched for power should you install Homelink on your rig. Constant power to the Homelink transmitter is an easy invitation for scumbags to break in to your vehicle should you leave it outside and open your garage doors.

Wired in the new (to the MJ) stereo after spending about a half hour figuring out which wires were what! Found that the rear speakers are good just the door speakers were toast, so installed new door speakers. Now the dash face panel is back on :clapping:

Mounted up some new BFG KM2s. It sure is nice to have brand new tires. My old Bighorns were pretty worn out. Now I just have to touch up my scratched up beadlock rings.

Today I ventured deeper into DIY than ever before. I removed my serpentine belt which was getting shredded by a damaged pulley that some genius bent to hell from using the wrong tool to remove/install. (must use water pump pulley puller tool) I installed brand new belt and pulley. Good as new. Before joining CC I never would have attempted anything more than an oil or air filter change. With help from members and reading posted projects, I am slowly becoming confident in doing my own work. Thank you Comanche Club and all the members who jump in to help novices like me!

used it as a plow to re-open my trail half way. then took my friend for a ride  needless to say, he was scared sh*tless :rotf: now he realizes what he calls "off-roading" is more like driving through puddles and over dirt curbs

Put another bag of sand in the bed (up to three now) for better traction from a stop when driving on ice.

Installed gauge cluster, Don't know what I am going to do about the PRNDL. Might mount an external one like Hornbrod did.

where did you get one like that?! i really hate the red outlines on my new gauge cluster, but it still beats dummy lights i guess. also hell forget the PRNDL thing all togther. why cut up a good looking cluster, just go by clicks when you shift. three and your in OD. $#!& ive gotten so used to where the lever sits when its in drive, i just pull it down instinctively.

Came out of an 80 something Xj at the junk yard. I agree I don't want to hack up the cluster. I don't think I really look at the PRNDL when I shift anyway. Would you be interested in a cluster like this if I find another one.

if the price is right i am. that style just has more of an old school feel

I will probably hit the junkyards this weekend. Will keep an eye open for this style. I think it was either $25 or $35 for it. I bought the newer red style first and then found this one at another yard. Even if you don't want it, I will get it as a spare.
