  1. I think I read somewhere that you can get a 97 Dakota gas tank to fit. I think that is around 23 gals
  2. Label EVERYTHING and be prepared for the wiring schematics to sometimes have the wrong color documented for a particular wire. Photos are ok but without a high definition camera it is tricky sometimes to see what color is on what pin. I like to document big plugs like the cab to dash harness. It will save confusion later.
  3. Not a truck conversion but the GR8 tops Safari one😁
  4. Looking for a straight, non rusty tailgate for my other MJ. Have a non rusty, slightly bend one I can throw into the deal.
  5. I am looking to get a JGC Trailhawk Hemi so I can tow the Comanche or maybe a travel trailer. Is this a bad idea? I know the WK2 Trailhawk isn't exactly reliable, mainly due to the quadralift air suspension.
  6. I got a quote from them a while back to redo my dash. Around $1,200 plus shipping. Which added another $200 or so. They do good work but for that price it needs to be.
  7. Here are the two different headers/headlight bezels. You can make the later bezels work with the earlier panel. You have to cut the top and bottom metal strips and do some other surgery. Red bezel 86-90 Black 81-92. Grille is also different. Basically the top and bottom metal strips on the earlier header were replaced with plastic on the 91 and 92 an integrated into the grille and bezel.
  8. You did good. However much I tried I couldn't get mine to fit that good. That was on a sandblasted shell. I will have to have you swing by and do your magic on mine!!
  9. Yes some of us found out that running water lines down the outside of an uninsulated garage is a bad idea! They would never do that up North!!
  10. Agreed so much misinformation.
  11. There is a guy on Youtube called Justin Braun who is dropping a Comanche body and bed on a Chevy Silverado chassis.
  12. I look at some of my friends doing S10's and Camaro's. They drop twice or three times that into a restoration. This is not a cheap game. Good news is that I have a vehicle that should be good for a lot of trouble free miles.
  13. Did it only happen when the engine was hot?. Or did you get a no start from cold as well?
  14. Probably around $40k. $7k axles, LS - L33 Long Block, headers, mounts, accessories $8k, Paint and Body $14k, Trans $2k, Decked $1.5k, Tonneau Cover $2k, Yakima $1k. Wheels and Tires $1k, Brakes $1k. Wasn't my intention to spend this much when I started so I had to sell my LJ to pay for it!!
  15. That is a nice piece of kit I bet it has a better low end torque curve than the LS1 intake,
  16. Very interesting build. Keep up the good work!!
  17. Thanks to everybody for the compliments. Greatly appreciated!!
  18. I put a set of Chinese Bosch injectors into my old LJ a couple of years ago pure junk. (Same as you I thought they were OEM Bosch) Bet that is your problem. No QC.
  19. This is awesome, thank you guys for doing this. Greatly appreciated!!
  20. Gap to .035 no more.
  21. If you want use a synthetic I would use Amsoil Z Rod 10W30. It works great with the Jeep flat tappet lifters and cam. Jeep lifters like some zinc in the oil to help with wear.
  22. The MJ unit is longer so it fits right down to the bottom of the tank.
