No power to anything is most likely a battery connection issue of the most basic type. If it was somewhere else you most likely wouldn't lose everything at once.

I have a handheld butane torch that I absolutely love for stuck/seized threaded fasteners. I have found you don't always need to make things super hot to free up. I heat nuts and bolts frequently with it, with great success. they are cheap and easy to maneuver and fill. Just a suggestion. The studs in the frame can be a real bear due to the buildup of dirt and road debris that collects on top of them over time. In the past on other trucks I have cut them flush and drilled with decent success. Usually during drilling they will eventually become thin/ warm enough they will free up and just thread themselves out

Just finished reading the entire post..... Although I don't have any leather interior cars I am curious how someone can go about restoring them. So to answer the question, I am the guy who wants to know about rubbing dead animal skin. I am not surprised your getting a lot of interest in this. Your attention to detail makes many of us cry, and think about how we can strive to do better. To this I say thank you for the motivation and inspiration to become more detail oriented.

Blowing snow and pushing it are 2 different scenarios. Pushing takes more traction. Look into adding rv antifreeze to the tires for some added weight.

I would suggest some tire chains and some weight. won't push much snow like that. Unless you get a good running start. Lol

I am planning a aw4 swap in my truck at some point. There is more to it than some mention. Engine harness, shifter, shifter cable, tps, tcu, and driveshafts (maybe a differenct in the throttle body itself but I don't recall off hand) must all be addressed one way or another. I got an 89 auto trans engine harness and took the chance to go through it and cruisers tips eliminating poor factory connections and refreshing grounds. This was much eaisier to do on the bench. Its not a difficult swap' just alot involved.

Ok so I have everything around except setup bearings. Can I use the old bearings from the previous carrier and make some setup bearings or do I need brand new bearings? Just trying to make sure I have everything before I dive in.

me personally i am a fan of the "patina look" on the truck I feel it gives character. However leaving said patina won't end well long term. What color are you planning to go with?

I would pull that tape deck. Alot of guys want the originals. Even if it doesnt work. We have a resident radio expert.

Remove it however necessary. Rebuild any damage with jb weld. Drill new hole. Install new screw.
