  1. I feel it really depends on the intended purpose of the truck. My daily will get replacement part. For a show truck that might be a different story. But either case I wouldnt just start randomly servicing/ replacing things that don't need it.
  2. Thanks to all. I ways truly honored when asked.
  3. I think they all look very rebuildable. A little brake clean and some fresh wd-40. Good to go.
  4. I have 31's with 3.55 gears and 5th gear is worthless on all but the smallest of hills. 3.73 and 31's would be a really good match. If its gonna bea off road only rig then I would say go deeper on the gears but 31's with what you have would keep the streetability. And if you don't like the change you only have to deal with it till the tires wear out.
  5. Come on guys lets not screw up another thread.....
  6. Your tailgate shouldn't just fall off. I can open mine and drop it, slam it shut as hard as I want and it won't fall off. I would say you have a bent hinge or something else at play. A tailgate lock of any kind will just be a bandaid over a gunshot so to speak.
  7. Looks like a fun project.
  8. I believe he said that was #1
  9. The hp is more desirable in the wheeling crowd for ground clearance. If it is going to be a street truck the LP will work fine.
  10. I run all led exterior lighting except headlights. I feel better knowing my aging wire harness is carrying a little lighter load. There are 2 kinds of flashers, thermal and electronic. Leds don't draw enough current to activate the thermal flasher correctly. Swap to electronic flashers and your good to go.
  11. Maybe a repaint after floor work?
  12. Absolutely. That is how adventures, and great stories are made.
  13. Use the money you would waste buying another vehicle and make the eagle reliable. It's simple economics. 3 vehicles cost more than 2.
  14. Doesnt matter what you buy. The reliability of anything can be questioned. Even old hondas break. Just not as often. Drive the eagle and if your "friends" get mad they can't borrow it, are they really friends?
  15. At this point I would drive the eagle and just enjoy the adventure as it goes.
  16. I need a cap to cut up for a dizzy index. Otherwise Emory paper and run it. Lol
  17. Good to hear.
  18. Buy another mj
  19. That Looks pretty good.
  20. Thats a good point. Mechanical components general don't fail sitting. I would lean more towards an electrical problem due to corrosion being the issue. Was it running when parked?
  21. It looks like it fits really well. I am just starting to look into options and really like the downey but dig the idea of the hard cover. Its like installing a big work table on the truck. lol
  22. Well then my next step would be swap in a renix system. But then again I have never claimed to make wise decisions.....
  23. got a pic of it on the truck? Edit: I saw the side shot of the truck. Wondering about a pic from the rear looking down the bed rail at the alignment between the cover and the bed.
