  1. The only way you'll be able to use your existing wheels is if you get a TJ/LJ Rubicon 44. Wagoneer 44's are 6-lug.
  2. I've ran, installed, repaired, handled, and removed parts from all the major aftermarket parts companies for Jeeps. You get what you pay for, especially when it comes to joints. A set of Rough Country control arms is $300 and a set of Currie arms is $700. Why is that? They do the same thing and even look the same. The difference is in the materials and build quality. 20,000 miles and 20 wheeling trips later the Currie arms are fine, the RC arms if they are still functioning properly will need the joints rebuilt and bushings replaced. Budget parts are built to a price point, to be affordable. I'm not bashing budget lift kits because I'm a rich snob. I'm a broke idiot, but I've learned a lot over the years.
  3. OE parts are designed to last, Rusty's and Rough Country are designed to be affordable. I've ran a lot of Rubicon Express parts and their bushings were sh*t when it came to longevity, but at least they were rebuildable. OE control arms can easily last 200,000 miles, I don't believe there are any aftermarket options that can do that.
  4. Why not do stacks? You said you wanted to go "full yeetard".
  5. Nicely done man.
  6. The color looks great. I've been debating on painting my truck red or grey and I sure like the way your truck looks!
  7. For a 3" lift I'd use the WJ arms over budget priced aftermarket arms because cheap aftermarket control arms do not last.
  8. 86 trucks have garbage drivetrain. In my opinion, $250-350 plus the cost of towing it home isn't worth it for what you are getting. Take that money and buy the parts you actually want.
  9. Don't worry Pete, I came back just in time. Like I said before, the prodigal son has returned. Also I'd be interested in attending any meetup, and I'm definitely willing to come help Jim's widow.
  10. I'd be interested in set if you plan to make more than two.
  11. $3000 for bolt in Dana 44s with RCV shafts, Lockers, and 4.56 gears. That is a steal. Try adding up parts and labor on building those axles from scratch.
  12. Did you see the memo about that TPS requiring a new cover sheet?
  13. It was a pleasure to know him. Peace out Don.
  14. Why do you want the Teraflex ball joints? Just because they say Teraflex on the box doesn't make them better, and girls won't be impressed by it. Get Spicer (Dana/Spicer) replacement ball joints. They're the best ones for a Dana 30, especially for the price.

    Memories of Jim

    I'd be down for this.
  16. Thanks Nathen. Come help me out, I'll pick up some Fireball for you. ;)
  17. His site didn't have the information I was looking for, although there is a lot of cool stuff there. What I really want to know is, are there any parts outside the drivetrain and wiring harness that are exclusive to 91+92? I'd hate to scrap something that I then have to go pull from the junkyard or buy new.
  18. I have two MJs with enough parts between them to make one decent truck. One of the trucks is a 92 the other an 88. The drivetrain and wiring harness from the 92 will be going into the 88 unibody. Is there anything outside of that that I will need when doing this swap? Is there a difference in the HVAC system? Fuel pump?
  19. That bumper looks so much better than the old one. Your truck looks great!
  20. I agree with what mnkyboy says, because he’s much smarter than me. The 4.0 is a great motor, keep that and spend your time and money turning the rest of the truck into a “mean off-road machine”.
  21. I blew up a BA-10 trying to break the tires loose on wet asphalt with 4.56s and 30x9.50s.
  22. Renix sucks bruh. It just seems odd to me that you'd go through all the effort of installing an updated engine, but keeping the old inferior engine management system.
  23. Why would you keep any of the Renix system? Especially if you had/have a 91 parts truck.
  24. Don, you need to get better and take good care of yourself because I just started a new build and I don't want you to miss it! I've never met Don in person, but I've spent a lot of time hanging out with him here and would consider him a good friend. Abby, I wish you and your father the best and I hope you can enjoy the holidays together.
