Except for the hood, the slats on the roof, the missing "vent" on the B pillar, and the gas filler location, it looks something like an MJ

Why? If they had too much money, they could have given some to me.

A Harbor Freight scissor transmission jack. I once rented a trans jack for a weekend from a tool rental company. I kept it for three day at $50 per day. After that experience, I figured I could have purchased the HF jack, used it once, thrown it away when I was done, and I would have been ahead money-wise. Next time I needed a trans jack, I went and bought the HF version. I've used it just a few times since getting it, but I have saved a lot of $$ both in the cost and the driving back and forth to pickup/return to the rental store. Also, I purchased from Craigslist a hoist and engine stand. Both of these got good use when I did my 4.0 swap in my CJ7. The hoist was great at lifting the tub off and on the frame.

So? The rest of the truck is upside down.

how many miles on your truck's factory engine?
87MJTIM replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Mine has 301k miles. It did get "refresh" rebuild at ~267k. Still the original block, head, and crank - not sure about the rods and pistons. -
Mine was not at a part store/junk yard, but.... Some one once asked me who did the body work to convert it to a pick up. ("It" meaning a Cherokee). I told her it came that way. She said "I didn't know Jeep made a pick up!"

Does yours have a cat? If so, then it may be clogged. If you don't have a cat, then may be fuel delivery. -
I thought you might have been the low bidder

I been to Chattanooga several times. Nice city downtown. Visited Ruby Falls, the tram ride up lookout mountain, and the rock city. You would think it’s touristy but they are really nice. Lots of Civil war history there- lookout mt and chickamoga battlefield

I am looking to get a better engine scan tool. I purchased a Horror Freight scanner a few years back. All it can tell me are the engine DTC codes. I'd like to get something that can give me more info than just the P codes. Obviously, this is not for my MJ or CJ. I have a 05 Honda CRV and a 03 Chevy Sub. I've had both vehicles in for service and the tech tells me about non-critical DTC in the computer. My HF does not give me any of those codes. I'd also like it to give running and operating info to detect potential issues. One software I've seen used on the 'net is Autoenginuity. The base unit starts around $750. In order to get vehicle brand modules starts to get up to $1200. Are there other scan tools/software for less $ but can do more than give me a P code?

Quartz Clock Installation & Ash Tray Light Help
87MJTIM replied to NEO auto's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My clock used to work sometimes. Sometimes I could see the display, other times it was dark. When is was displayed, it kept accurate time. That told me the clock work, but the light display was not working. I did Cruiser's dash panel ground upgrade. Now the clock displays all the time. -
Where in VA? I have XJ door maroon panels, with hockey stick arm rests. (doors are not for sale.)

See the attached link for the Renix Fuel Injection Manual. A handy booklet to have. http://alpinefurniturestore.com/JeepDocumentation/MJs/Jeep_Renix_Fuel_Injection_manual.pdf

My bad. I got rich and lean backwards. 154 LTFT is increasing the pulse width. My MPG has sucked!

I am watching. I have an 87 4.0 with a 90 manual trans ECU. I also have Nickintime's REM to read the codes. I am having an issue with LTFT stuck at 154. That is running rich. I recently replaced the O2 sensor with a Bosch (replaced a NTK/NKG). The REM shows the O2 voltage jumping up and down from 1.xx to 4.xx, like it is supposed to do. The REM shows I am in CLSD loop, like it is should be. The STFT is constantly changing, BUT is continuously below 128, running lean. It mostly is showing double digits - 10 to 90. Sometimes it will drop to zero. If it stays there for 3 seconds, the ECU switches to OPEN loop (like is should). However, the LTFT NEVER changes! What can I do to fix/adjust the LTFT?

I have two just like that!

87 AMC Comanche Manuals
87MJTIM replied to Comanchejeepgal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a paper copy of the the MR 277 shop manual. http://www.autobooksbishko.com/Items/1984-1987 Jeep Shop Manual/14340.html The issue about the 87 manual is that it is the 86 manual with supplements for the 87 changes. I find myself using Vol 2 mostly for the 4.0. Off Ebay several years ago I purchased an 87 Electric manual. It is very similar to the 88 manual that jpdrive1 linked to. However, there are some differences between 87 and 88. I found that while tracing wires on my MJ (production date May 1987). The 87 wiring diagram showed me one thing; my actual wiring showed me something different. My actual wiring did match the 88 manual's diagram. -
It looks like someone put after market railings or short bed rails on a long bed. They do not come all the way up to the cab.

Unknown electrical components

As Eagle said, the Yellow is for cruise control. The gray is the CEL warning light. -
1988 was the changeover year. The sale to Chrysler occurred mid- year. Early models would be all AMC. Later models would have a mixture of parts. My F-I-L bought an 88. I always laughed at it because it had some AMC and Chrysler emblems on it.
