  1. For floor pans, go with Key Parts. there’s a thread about repairing the tailgate. Depending on how bad the rear bumper is it may be straightened
  2. This should get pinned to the DIY section. Thanks, Cruiser.
  3. Clogged cat? I had a similar issue when trying to accelerate. Loose pieces inside the cat would shift restricting exhaust flow.
  4. Too early to say yes. If I go, I probably won't be on the field. I would be there for the swap meet and the fabulous food.
  5. The temperature sensor screws into the radiator- driver’s side, next to the e-fan. The temperature sensor triggers a relay that powers the fan. The relay is on the driver’s side inner fender. Try removing the relay and jump the power supply. If the fan comes on, then it maybe the sensor is bad.
  6. Looks like seeping around the cap. Either get a Volvo cap (see Cruiser54) or change the bottle and cap.
  7. I have swapped to an AX15 also. Parts needed: AX15 - preferably with an external slave cylinder (bell housing, shift fork, slave cylinder) Transmission cross member Transmission mount Transfer case (23 spline input shaft) Transfer case shift linkage
  8. Good to know. For 3" lift, you could go with puck/spacers up front or change the coil springs to give you the lift. Lifts more than 3" will affect handling. You may have to change control arms and pitman arms. For the rear, you could get new leaf springs from General Springs. These give initial lift of approx 3", but may settle some. Less expenses lift options are: Add a Leaf to your spring pack and/or longer shackles will add lift.
  9. No one has mentioned the obvious, so I will. What condition is the truck? Does it start, go and stop? Rust? Address any safety issues before modifying it. Have you (or your dad) performed Cruiser's Renix Tips? If not, you should look at www.cruiser54.com and perform any/all of his tips. What are your goals for the truck? Taking it off road, larger tires, or just the "look" of the truck? Let us know about the MJ: engine, trans, axles, modification previously done, etc. Post the VIN and you can get the build data for it. Pictures are always nice.
  10. What Pete said: modern dealerships won't know to fixed an old Jeep. Search for a repair manual online for 91-92 Comanches and Cherokees. Purchase a good quality digital multimeter (DVOM). Learn how to use the basic functions: volts and ohms. This will help you with diagnosing electrical issues. And be like me (and many others), get your YouTube Certificate. YouTube is a wealth of very useful (and not so useful) information. If you have a problem that needs fixin', someone has posted a YouTube video on how to repair it.
  11. In the original photo, look just to the left of the driver's side front tire below the bumper. See the dark curve of the axle. That is what I saw.
  12. The price is what a willing seller and willing buyer agree to. Post the VIN and another CC member can get info about what may have originally come on it from the factory. Is it a 4.0 or 2.5? It looks like a 4x4. (I can see a bulge under the truck, next to the left tire.) The rims aren't original. The rear bumper was replaced. Otherwise, the picture looks nice.
  13. That’s the “check engine, stupid “ light
  14. He is the correct cross member with the drop.
  15. On YouTube, "the Fast Lane Truck" channel did a series on an MJ. One episode had them pay to get a BA 10 rebuilt. They spent about $2000 to rebuild it. After that, it surprisingly was still a BA10!!!
  16. I swapped in an AX15 with an external slave cylinder several years ago. My issue with the BA10 was the external slave cylinders. In approx. 25 years, it was on its fifth slave cylinder. Some lasted many years; one lasted just 2+ years. My transmission was never a problem. That said, if you switch to an AX15, there a several other parts needed for a conversion: a matching t-case (if 4x4), the cross member, the transmission mounting bracket, the exhaust pipe hanger, and the t-case shifter linkage (if 4x4). If I missed something, other may add them. If you convert to an external slave cylinder, you will need the correct bell housing, front bearing cover, release fork, and proper clutch kit. Also, you need the hydraulic clutch system. You can find most of the parts in a local junk yard from a manual XJ. i gathered all the parts then did swap in my driveway over one weekend - by my self. I am not a mechanic, but I am "YouTube Certified." Don't let it intimidate you. It is just a bunch of nuts and bolts.
  17. The red wire does not look "factory." With the in-line fuse, could it feed an after market radio? The other "cable" could be from of the cruise control servo. Where does the other end connect to? Does it connect to the bracket with the accelerator cable on the throttle body?
  18. The owners manual calls for 10W30. I don’t remember the intervals. I’ve done every 5000 miles or 6 months.
  19. I read a lot of reviews of Jasper engines. Most were favorable. There were many unfavorable also. I understand that most reviewers have issues. People that don’t have issues don’t typically reply. So, it was good to read positive reviews. The engine must have been a “Monday “ engine.
  20. I want to give an update to this. The Jasper engine arrived at the end of March. The mechanic got it installed a week later. I wasn’t able to get it then. (My work keeps me busy until April 18. I am a CPA preparing taxes.) I received a text from him that it was dripping oil. He was going to reseal the oil pan. When he dropped the pan, there was metal shavings in the pan. 😯 One of the Cam bearings was toasted. It hasn’t even been driven! Jasper will send a replacement engine. I am not getting a warm feeling for Jasper. I will follow up with more info as I get it.
  21. That’s because the thread is for a transfer case shifter. Th BA10 is a transmission.
  22. Pictures of an AX15 cross member and mount
  23. Poorly worded. The TT battery is charged through the 7 pin connector. The frig runs off the TT battery.
  24. That is why I go to the RV shows. We go inside may different styles. We look for counter top space, cabinet storage, bathroom layout, and "traffic flow" in-out-around the TT. We decide if those features work for us. One new feature that TTs are installing is 12v refrigerators. You no longer need shore supply and/or propane to run the refrigerator. It can run off the on-board battery and be charged from the tow vehicle's alternator when towing
