thats how my front shaft looked with about 7" lift. drove maybe 1500 mi since i got it, went to get it lengthend today and the splines were too messed up so they would have had to cut off old and weld on new, cheaper to do it now. for some reason the shaft from my cherokee was just about perfect, about 7/16 short. with the old shaft i needed to add 3". don't know if i grabbed a lengthend one from the junk yard without knowing it or what.

so they won't corrode :thwak:

i had them (rockyroad) on my xj and was happy with them. i would rather have DB's than long arms, somewhat of a comfort factor of how they are mounted compared to a little bit of welding with long arms. about 1 1/2 months ago i ordered a set for the project mj, 3 weeks later and they hadnt shipped, a few emails concerning my dis-satasfaction and was supose to get 20% off if i reinstated my order. as of then they had just finished a batch of mj brackets and only a few sets left so unless you don't mind waiting id check to see when they will be avaliable.

looks good. are you goin to level out the suspension or keep it raked incase you use the bed? -
well i found the #0331. my next question is ive read a little on getting a -99 header to fit on the oo+ head and have kinda been getting a mixed message. i have found a new banks header on CL, along with a gibson, and APN shipped for pretty cheap. i don't want to get a part that is more and destroy it just to find out it won't mork. i read that some clearancing will be nessary but i forgot to save that page and can't seem to find it. doesn anybody have more detail or can point me to a link that does, thanks

so i bought an 87 comanche with supposedley 2000 engine/tranny. the exhaust manufold is cracked but it doesnt have the pre-cats that all the 00-01 header options show. can somebody let me know what casting number a 00-01 and pre 99 heads should have. thanks

pb blaster is junk in my opnion. i like aerokroil, we just call it kroil. grainger sells it up here but i don't know if there are any near you. to work best you want to give it a good spay a few times a day for 2 days. but just a few hrs soaking will help. working the bolt back and forth alot helps break up the rust inside, and if your not afraid of melting the rubber bushing on the leaf you can use a little propane torch to get the nut fairly warm, then rub a candle around the threads. the heat sucks the wax in like when you flux/sodder copper tubing.

2" wider doesnt sound bad, ill be ok with cutting the mounting plates out and moving them but i don't want to narrow the bumper.

what are the next steps going to be? -
(tech or pub?) i have a trail ready winch bumper on my zj and i have been kicking around in my head of putting it on the new mj. today i was browsing around and saw a very tiny pic that muddymj had, he did the same thing. i have PM'd him but doesnt look like he is on very often. currently my zj is on loan to a buddy that want to buy it so i can't take measurements or see how similar they are etc. he say's he parked it infront of his xj and i looked to wide but I'm guessing he just wants the bumper to stay with the grand cherokee lol does anybody have info or pictures of such a thing? I'm assuming ill have to cut out the old mounting plates and make new ones but overall it doesnt sound too dificult. or is anybody good with photoshop that will do their majic.
