It is typical for vehicles to get slightly worse fuel mileage in the wintertime, but I think your fuel mileage is off. Does your truck seem to run rich at all? What size tires and gears do you have? What is your driving style?
-
Dang young whippersnappers. I feel like that just comes with driving and owning these trucks. Hey, at least he's on Guam so he can't give you a swirly or something
-
Just think of it as MJ brotherly love

You're older than I thought you were. I always thought you were closer to my age (maybe 20) These trucks even make me fell old a little bit. When I was born, my truck was only 15 years old. Now its 32. That seems like a long time.

I hope I'm one of the productive ones. I try at least

Happy early birthday! Hopefully I will remember to wish you a happy birthday on Sunday too!

March 2021 MJOTM-89eliminator, again
89 MJ replied to 89 MJ's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
You should check out his other MJOTM--it has changed a lot since then. I have it linked above. -
March 2021-89eliminator's 89 Eliminator Yes, yes, this Jeep has in fact been MJOTM before. Not too often is there drama and there is loads of valuable info here. Great to be a part of it. I'm glad Wade reached out to me to have this truck featured, even though it is a repeat. It certainly has changed a lot over the years. Congrats, Wade!

Looks like Chunk was a fairly late one. Also, this section is almost a year old.

It's crazy how many motor mounts these little FWD 4 cylinder cars have. I think its kinda funny that lots of them have 3 to keep that little 4 banger in there when an old big block only had the two, plus the transmission crossmember. I suppose lots of the motor mounts on the newer cars are for the transmission too.

mini beast Project: Stock To Beast!!!

How's progress? At least your truck is high enough that it looks like you can maneuver under there with plenty of room. -
Scaleless's '87 SporTruck Project
89 MJ replied to scaleless's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Can't go wrong with a Renix era Sportruck! Most importantly, it looks very solid. Be sure to pull up your carpet/vinyl flooring to check for rust. Even some of the driest trucks have rusty floors. These trucks like to leak. -
This. We all have something that we can teach somebody, and we have a whole lot more that we can learn from other people.

17 now, been on here since 2018, but I offer the advice of an older person because I’ve been around restorations my whole life.
-
Not trying to talk you out of them, but I'm not sure if that is the best option for building a daily driver truck. Many states require the wheels to be covered by a fender flare. A fullsize axle is going to make the tire stick out farther than the flare. It also isn't a huge upgrade. My dad has a 5.3 YJ with a 5 speed on 35s with a bone stock D30 and haven't had an issue with it yet. If you are semi careful, a D30 would probably live with your 4.0 on up to 37s, especially considering you have an auto.
-
Sounds like you have a pretty solid plan, be sure to start a build thread on it. That chrome 10 slot
-
I see in another thread that you plan on swapping your rear axle. What do you plan on going with?
-
That looks like a good truck to play with! When you say 4.7L, are you talking about a 4.0 stroked to 4.7 or Jeep's 4.7 V8? Either way, I'm scared for that D35. It looks like a fairly well optioned SporTruck. Tilt column, cargo lamp, vent windows. Are those factory running boards?
-
I do not. That would be a question to put in tech.
-
@CoastChief makes new ones.
-
Great looking truck! I’m sure it didn’t come cheap!

'65 Lyn Craft 15' fiberglass boat
89 MJ replied to buxmj's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
I know very little about boats, but it looks great! 50 is more than 40, so the engine choice seems obvious . This will look great behind the MJ.
