Crew Cab Comanche YouTube build
89 MJ replied to ComancheCrewCab's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Why did you decide to go with such a short bed? To keep overall length down? -
I wouldn't. It probably wouldn't be an upgrade at this point and may actually be counterproductive.

Were those the "Comanche Chief" hood stripes? It looks like that is what they come from.
-
This is the truth. I believe it was @Jeep Driver that said a while back that it is easy to get along with most people on a 1 on 1 basis, but society as a whole is stupid. Of course, I'm paraphrasing, but I think you catch the drift.

I think we deserve some pictures of the whole truck . We haven't seen all of LR in a while.

Scaleless's '87 SporTruck Project
89 MJ replied to scaleless's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you! That engine looks like a really good one to rebuild and stroke. -
Cheap too! These are the best fixes
-
I think it would too, my only concern is the front flares. Of all of my extra flares, none of them are the factory "base model" black type flares. I will need to source new front flares from my local JY to make it match and make the front look OEM like @neohic did.
-
I might toss the OEM one on tomorrow to see how it looks. I will probably be doing my headlight relay harness and H4 housings/bulbs swap tomorrow too.
-
We really haven't done a ton to it lately. Dad got some bedsides on order and we tacked the cab mounts in. Then we decided to move the cab back 1/2", so we cut the tacks and slid it back and re-tacked it.

Front Engine Stabilizer 1986 Comanche 2.5L

Is it just me, or do most of the MJs in AZ seem to be LWBs? -
As of now, I am thinking June for a get together. Would that work for most of us?
-
That’s where I am!!! Maybe we’ll need to get together
-
I’m not sure. I do have an OEM one for it, but I’m not sure what I will do yet.
-
Hopefully I will have everything do me for the All Breeds Jeep Show! I think the only thing I need to buy (or rather build) before then is a set of rock sliders. This truck will see trails....someday....maybe.
-
I know we can. And we probably should have. You should see our PM that we had going on paint alone. Don’t worry about being an a$$, I am too.

How close is McHenry to @JolietJEEP'84?

Here is an opinion article that Jay Leno recently wrote for Hagerty. I know lots of us do our own work, so we have appreciation for the work that goes into these trucks and just vehicles in general, but I still think this is worth a read. https://www.hagerty.com/media/opinion/leno-appreciation-for-hard-work-is-fading-and-old-cars-arent-easy/

I was going to suggest that too, but I'm not sure if it would clear the e-brake. Maybe Mini could confirm?
